Sales Executive

We have set ourselves an ambitious goal: to revolutionize the centuries-old coffee trade industry. Our technology makes coffee trade transparent and digital. Through the Algrano online platform, coffee growers promote and sell their coffees straight to roasters without worrying about the details of logistics, financing, and quality assurance. Awarded in 2015 and 2022 as the best innovation by the Specialty Coffee Association, we currently count more than 1’000 growers and roasters from all over the world. We are 32 people from 14 countries with backgrounds in software development, UX design, roasting, logistics, finance, marketing and sales. We will roll-out the Algrano online platform  to US roasters. We are looking for you, our first employee in the US, to replicate the European success. 

The Role

As a sales executive US, you will promote the stories of technology affine specialty coffee growers to a young quality-affine generation of coffee roasters in the US. By enabling relationships between roasters and growers, you change the supply chain of coffee and ultimately the living conditions of the people producing it.  You will be employed by the Algrano subsidiary in the US and report directly to the CEO based in Switzerland. You will daily interact with the sales, sourcing and quality team based in Europe. You are eager to collaborate on the product and marketing roadmaps to provide the best solutions to your customers. 

Your daily tasks include:

  • Drive the entire sales cycle from initial customer engagement to closed sales and post-delivery support

  • Interact with customers through visits, phone calls, emails, trade shows

  • Train roasters how to use the Algrano platform and advise roasters on current offerings

  • Develop and maintain territory plans which outline how sales targets will be met on an ongoing basis 

  • Nurture public relations and relationships with national industry organizations, media and strategic partners

  • Maintain a high level of relevant domain knowledge in order to have meaningful conversations with prospects

  • Provide feedback to the management on market trends and opportunities to enhance the product and improve the company brand and reputation

You love coffee and understand the realities of coffee producers and daily operational needs of coffee roasters. You are curious and naturally inquisitive. You enjoy learning and reading.   • Mobile: You are ready to travel within the US and sometimes to the headquarters in Zurich Switzerland. You have a driving license.

Your experience, background and skills include:

  • Language skills: You are a native English speaker. Any other language is a plus.

  • Coffee: You have worked a minimum of 2 years in green coffee buying or grading or trading or roasting. 

  • Financial acumen: You are capable of developing a sales plan that produces effective results.

  • Sales experience: You have a proven track record in sales. 

  • Hubspot CRM: you are an experienced user of CRM software.
