Technical Lead/Senior Software Engineer

Your Role:

You will be the Technical Lead for Payments Engineering. This is a small team of software engineers (3) and a product manager. You will spend most of the time designing & architecting solutions including duties such as coding, managing the team and collaborating with the product manager to ensure the team delivers high quality work.

This team owns all payments software deliverables and its goal is to make these processes as quick, reliable and efficient as possible for our international user base.

The team is 100% distributed and remote. This role will be reporting directly to the Director of Engineering, Core Product.

Things You Get To Do:

• Create, lead and grow a product-focused, rapidly iterating team

• Work closely with stakeholders to deliver high impact software

• Work with other technical leaders in Alpaca

• Evolve and grow as a Technical Leader with personal mentorship

Who You Are (Must-Haves):

• A strong, experienced software engineer with lead experience is preferred

• Experience with Golang 

• Experience with Cloud Native Architecture and Kubernetes

• Experience leading a remote team and providing coaching/mentorship to enable growth across the team

Who You Might Be (Nice-to-Haves):  

• Good understanding of the financial markets

• Equities and/or Crypto trading platform experience (Exchange or Brokerage)

• Good understanding of payments systems

• Knowledge of Agile methodologies

• Experience with Postgres or other RDBMS

• Experience of microservices architectures
