Lead Fullstack Software Developer
The Role
ReUp Education is seeking skilled lead Full Stack Software Developers to build our next generation of mobile web apps enabling us to support millions of adult learners. This role will be a key member of the development team creating and delivering new products to market.
As lead Full Stack Developer you'll be working with a cross-functional team that’s responsible for the full software development life cycle, from ideation to production release. This includes working with graphic designers and product managers who will define the specifications and features. You will be responsible for leading a team in developing the features from top (frontend) to bottom (backend), ensuring the application is functional and responsive. You should have experience leading a team of developers at all stages of the development life cycle. You should have expert level experience with both frontend and backend coding languages, frameworks, tools and third-party libraries. Founded in 2015, ReUp Education is the only organization that focuses exclusively on helping colleges and universities engage and re-enroll the more than 40% of US students who have “stopped out” and support them until graduation, through our technology-enabled service. To date, we have re-enrolled nearly 22,500 students, assisted over 5,000 to graduate, and recaptured over $85 million in tuition for our university partners.
What you’ll do
Work with architects, developers, designers and product managers to create software solutions
Lead the technical, data modeling, and architectural decisions for the frontend and backend
Lead and participate in the development of frontend components from UI design specifications
Lead and participate in the development of backend APIs used by the frontend
Lead and participate in the development of interfaces for databases and 3rd party services
Lead and participate in the development of clean, reusable and documented code
Testing software for bugs, responsiveness and performance
Troubleshoot, debug and update code to fix issues

4+ years experience with full stack mobile and desktop web applications
4+ years experience with frontend languages (e.g. HTML, CSS, Javascript)
4+ years experience with several frontend frameworks (e.g. React, Next, Vue, Svelte,...)
3+ years experience with JavaScript/TypeScript (Node/Deno) backends
3+ years experience with various databases types such as SQL (e.g. Postgres…) and/or NoSQL (e.g. Firebase)
Experience leading a team of developers to create web applications
Experience with security best practices
Experience with backend APIs such as ReSTful and/or GraphQL
Experience with backend frameworks (e.g. Express, Nest, Flask,...)
Experience with frontend style frameworks (e.g. PostCSS, Tailwind CSS)
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
An analytical, organized and learner mindset (e.g. crave to learn new technologies)
Great attention to detail, leaving no stone unturned
Nice to Have
Experience with Amazon Web Services
Experience with Serverless architecture
Experience with automated testing
Experience with CI/CD
Experience with Agile (Scrum) methodologies

Compensation & Benefits
Compensation: $105,000-$115,000 annual salary commensurate with experience

Location
