Head of Marketing

About the Role 

As the Head of Marketing, you will be fully responsible for overseeing the marketing function at Scope3. As a key member of the leadership team, reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, you will work closely with Scope3 executives to establish a world-class marketing strategy and own the plan to drive business growth, enhance brand awareness and achieve Scope3 priority objectives. Scope3 is in a unique position of establishing a new category, generating a tidal wave of earned media and capturing the attention of the digital advertising industry.  Through our efforts to reduce carbon emissions, the Head of Marketing will help us capitalize on the momentum and create a top-notch plan to continue to build the brand, support our go-to-market teams and deliver on key customer acquisition strategies. This position requires a strong blend of strategic thinking, creative vision and business acumen to effectively lead the marketing function.  

Responsibilities: 

Marketing Strategy 

  • Create and execute Scope3's overall marketing strategy and vision, providing insights and recommendations that spark new ideas, directions and approaches to building the brand and fueling business growth.

  • Work alongside Scope3 senior leadership and go-to-market teams to evolve key themes, narratives and strategies and support the development of executive platforms and presentations.

  • Stay current with industry trends and competitive landscape. Apply relevant knowledge and best practices to drive continuous improvement and maintain a competitive edge.

  • Measure results through data analysis and analyze and improve the execution process on a consistent basis. 

Brand Management  

  • Oversee brand development and management, ensuring consistent brand messaging across all marketing channels and touchpoints. 

  • Maintain brand integrity and ensure brand guidelines are followed throughout all marketing initiatives. 

Marketing Campaigns and Program Implementations 

  • Plan, implement, and evaluate integrated marketing campaigns across various channels, including digital marketing, traditional advertising, events, and public relations.  

  • Guide day-to-day activities required to successfully reach milestones and deadlines, identifying and helping fill gaps in capacity and capabilities via external resources as needed. 

  • Own, establish and optimize relevant marketing partnerships that align with Scope3’s marketing strategy (e.g., industry bodies, marketing partners and vendors) 

Lead, Demand, and Field Marketing Support 

  • Oversee the development of new, compelling content (e.g., presentations, collateral, videos, case studies) to articulate the value of Scope3's solutions and highlight important milestones at events and other activations. 

  • Support the development of educational content that drives awareness and interest in sustainable advertising and Scope3’s solutions to new market segments and prospects. 

  • Manage the development of customer and partner case studies that best position Scope3 with potential clients. 

Team Leadership and Development 

  • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing marketing team.  

  • Provide guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to team members. 

  • Foster a collaborative and innovative culture within the marketing department. 

Budget Management:  

  • Develop and manage the marketing budget, allocating resources effectively and efficiently.

  • Monitor and report on budget utilization, ensuring financial goals are met while maximizing return on investment.

You have …  

  • Proven experience (10+ years) in progressively senior marketing roles, with a focus on strategy development and execution. 

  • Global Marketing experience required as is experience in B2B marketing, preferably in AdTech, Data and/or sustainability.
    A proactive, influential leader who organically develops quality relationships with colleagues, is comfortable operating at all levels of the business, questions the status quo to drive improvements and change, and expertly drives cross-functional dependences to meet business goals.

  • Exhibited ability to thrive in a startup, are comfortable with ambiguity and remain poised and effective when priorities shift.

  • Excellent communication skills: writing, collaborating, persuading, and listening. 

  • Strong leadership skills, a high EQ and are naturally collaborative and curious.
