QA Lead - Contract

Job Description
This is an independent contractor role with no end date. The QA Lead is responsible for directing the day-to-day tasks and responsibilities of assigned QA Testers, working under the supervision of the QA Manager.
Responsibilities
Author comprehensive test plans with the guidance of the QA Manager
Develop and execute the staffing schedule of QA Testers (Work hours and Overtime schedule) to meet project demands
Development of project milestones and test schedule roadmap with guidance of the QA Manager
Identify Risks to the project schedule, test deliverables, staffing, and hardware planning with the guidance of the QA Manager
Develop mitigation strategies to identify risks with the guidance of the QA Manager
Responsible for running team-wide and studio-wide playtests for assigned projects.
Identify focus areas for each playtest and broadcast to the team
Identify known issues and broadcast them to the team
Take notes for bug callouts and feedback callouts during the playtest
Responsible for weekly one-on-ones with QA Testers
Responsible for summarizing recent QA initiatives, concerns, and planned work during QA Standups.
Attend all required project meetings such as standups, sprint reviews, etc.. and represent the QA team.
Provide 40 hours per week of QA services, leading the QA team and assisting the QA Manager.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required (Associate or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study (i.e. CS, EE, CE, etc.) highly desired)
Minimum 5 years of experience leading test teams
OR
Completed a minimum of 10 full-size/scope shipped game titles as a Test Lead or Manager
OR
Equivalent and relevant on-the-job work experience/training
Proven ability to communicate professionally in written and vocal communication, both internal and external
Expert knowledge of performance monitoring debug
Proactive in identifying areas requiring additional testing through product specification reviews
Knowledgeable of advanced test metrics and reports
Familiar with data analysis and capable of identifying bug trends and gaps in test coverage
