Vial is a global tech-driven CRO providing next-generation clinical trial management services. The Vial CRO powers its drug discovery arm, Battery Bio, an AI-powered hyper scalable biotech. Battery Bio harnesses Vial's unique 90% lower cost structure to produce more affordable drug development with efficient, streamlined clinical trials.
Our mission is to reimagine the drug discovery process to empower scientists to cure all human disease. We have assembled a talented team of clinical operators, chemists, and innovative thinkers to achieve this vision.
Vial is a San Francisco, California-based company founded by Simon Burns in October 2020. Since our founding, we have become a fast-growing company of 100+ employees with over $100 million in funding from esteemed investors including General Catalyst, Box Group, and Byers Capital.
Vial is rebuilding the infrastructure to advance research. By deploying technology at every step, we are creating a more efficient future for drug discovery.
Responsibilities:
Prepare the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with US GAAP, with supplementary insight including variance analysis of key accounts.
Assist with the management of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
Implement and review new accounting processes, in preparation for SOX compliance
Assist with implementation of NetSuite
Support FP&A with management account review and variance analyses
Assist with implementation of Sarbanes and Oxley Internal Controls
Streamline current processes for maximum efficiencies in the accounting process
Ad hoc project support to both Finance and Accounting functions
What we need to see (Essential):
CPA license (North America)
Experience in Biotech / Life Sciences industry, including familiarity with relevant US GAAP standards
High degree of attention to detail and accuracy
Incredibly ambitious with a desire to continue to learn
Excited about working in an ambiguous environment that is changing every day
Strong analytical skills and experience using data to help make strategic decisions
What we would like to see (Bonus):
Background in Big 4 public accounting
Experience in a fast growth scale-up or start-up
Bookkeeping, Accounts Payable, Invoicing, and Payroll experience are all a plus
Experience with NetSuite
Experience with IPO readiness
