Product Marketing Manager, Caddy

About Caddy

Caddy (caddy.com) is a second phone number app for solopreneurs, freelancers, and small businesses with fewer than five employees. A subsidiary of 800.com — the #1 Highest Rated and #1 Easiest to Use Inbound Call Tracking platform on G2 — Caddy gives independent workers a dedicated business number with calling, texting, and soon AI-powered voice receptionist and appointment booking, all managed from their iOS or Android device.

Caddy is pivoting from a consumer-focused audience to a solopreneur and small business ICP: individual founders, freelancers, musicians, pet sitters, home service providers, real estate agents, consultants, and anyone who needs a professional business line without the complexity of a full phone system.

We’re competing in a rapidly growing market. Our advantage: 800.com’s enterprise-grade telephony infrastructure, AI agent APIs, and a lean team that can move fast. We need a Product Marketing Manager who can own this product, drive the growth, and scale Caddy into a category leader.

About the Role

This is an ownership role. You will be the single accountable person for Caddy’s product direction, positioning, and growth. You’ll own the product roadmap, prioritize features with engineering, define the go-to-market strategy, and drive MRR growth — all while ensuring the product stays cutting-edge, simple, and valuable for our target customers.

You sit at the intersection of product and marketing. On the product side, you’ll work directly with our UX/UI designer and mobile engineering team to ship features that connect with our ICPs and monetize effectively. On the marketing side, you’ll coordinate with our marketing team and agency to optimize app install campaigns across Google, Meta, and Microsoft — recommending strategy, approving creative, and ensuring every dollar drives qualified installs.

You’ll report directly to the CEO and coordinate with 800.com’s Product Owner on any development tasks that touch the shared engineering team or 800.com’s backend APIs.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Product Ownership & Roadmap

    • Own the Caddy product roadmap end-to-end. Prioritize features based on ICP needs, competitive intelligence, and revenue impact.

    • Lead the integration of 800.com’s AI agents (voice receptionist, appointment booking) into Caddy’s mobile experience — ensuring a simple, intuitive interface that solopreneurs can set up in minutes.

    • Define and iterate on pricing tiers: from the current $9.99/mo unlimited calls and texts up to $99/mo+ for AI agent features. Build pricing that maximizes ARPU and LTV without creating friction for new users.

    • Write clear product requirements and user stories. Work daily withUX/UI and engineering to ship on a fast cadence.

    • Monitor competitor moves and ensure Caddy stays ahead on features that matter to our ICP.

  2. Go-to-Market & Positioning

    • Lead the positioning pivot from consumer/privacy use case to solopreneur/small business. Redefine Caddy’s messaging, App Store presence, website copy, and onboarding flow to speak directly to freelancers, founders, and independent workers.

    • Develop ICP-specific messaging for key segments such as: freelancers, home service providers, real estate agents, musicians/creatives, influencers, pet sitters/mobile service providers, and consultants.

    • Create and maintain marketing assets: landing pages, App Store optimization (ASO), demo videos, comparison pages and customer testimonials.

    • Plan and execute product launches for major features (AI receptionist, appointment booking) with coordinated campaigns across paid, organic, in-app and other growth channels.

  3. Growth & Acquisition

    • Coordinate with our ad agency and marketing team on paid campaigns. Recommend strategy, review keyword research, approve creative, and hold the agency accountable to CAC and ROAS targets.

    • Own key growth metrics: app installs, trial-to-paid conversion, MRR, ARPU, and LTV. Build dashboards and report weekly.

    • Identify and test new acquisition channels beyond paid ads: content marketing, partnerships (Upwork, Fiverr, Thumbtack), App Store featuring, referral programs, and influencer/creator partnerships.

    • Optimize the in-app conversion funnel from install → free trial → paid subscription → AI agent upsell.

  4. Customer Intelligence & Retention

    • Talk to customers regularly. Understand why solopreneurs choose Caddy, what makes them stay, and what makes them churn.

    • Build feedback loops between customer insights, product roadmap, and marketing messaging.

    • Implement lifecycle marketing: onboarding sequences, usage-based upgrade prompts, re-engagement campaigns for inactive users.

    • Monitor App Store reviews and ratings. Respond to feedback and use it to prioritize product improvements.

  5. Competitive Intelligence

    • Track competitor product releases, pricing changes, marketing campaigns, and App Store strategy on a weekly basis.

    • Maintain a competitive battle card and feature comparison matrix. Identify gaps where Caddy can leapfrog or differentiate.

    • Brief the team on competitive developments and recommend strategic responses.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of product marketing or product management experience in mobile apps, SaaS, or consumer tech. You’ve owned a product P&L or growth number before.

  • Experience with mobile app growth: ASO, paid acquisition (Google UAC, Meta App Install, Microsoft), and conversion funnel optimization.

  • Strong product sense — you can write a PRD, prioritize a backlog, and ship with a small engineering team. You don’t need a 50-person org to get things done.

  • Experience positioning products for small business or solopreneur audiences. You understand how a freelancer thinks about tools differently than an enterprise buyer.

  • Data-driven — you live in analytics dashboards, run A/B tests, and make decisions based on metrics, not gut feel.

  • Excellent copywriting and messaging skills. You can write App Store copy, landing pages, and ad creative briefs that convert.

  • Comfortable in a startup environment with a small, fast-moving team. You’re a builder, not a process person.

  • Bonus: Experience with telephony, VoIP, AI agents, or second phone number apps.

Performance Goals

  • 30-Day Milestone: Complete product and market immersion: audit Caddy’s current product, analytics, App Store presence, ad performance, and competitor landscape. Deliver a written 90-day product + marketing plan with prioritized initiatives. Baseline all key metrics (MRR, ARPU, installs/day, trial-to-paid rate, churn).

  • 90-Day Milestone: Execute the solopreneur pivot: updated App Store listing, website messaging, and onboarding flow targeting new ICP. Launch AI receptionist feature in Caddy. Grow MRR +50%. Increase ARPU from ~$10 to $15+ through AI agent upsells and pricing optimization. Establish weekly reporting cadence on growth metrics.

  • 180-Day Milestone: Grow MRR +150% from start. Launch appointment booking feature. Achieve 500+ daily app installs. Improve trial-to-paid conversion rate by 25% from baseline. ARPU at $20+ as AI agent adoption grows. Ship at least 2 competitive features.

  • 12-Month Target: Grow MRR 5× from start. ARPU at $25+ across the subscriber base. 1,000+ daily app installs with CAC under $15. 4.5+ App Store rating maintained. At least 3 active non-paid acquisition channels driving measurable installs. Clear product differentiation from competitors on at least 2 key features.

  • Stretch Goal: Additional $150K MRR by month 12.

Compensation Plan

  • Base Salary: $100,000

  • Performance Bonus: Quarterly bonus tied to MRR growth targets:

    • 90-day ($30K MRR): $2,500 bonus

    • 180-day ($50K MRR): $5,000 bonus

    • Stretch ($150K MRR): additional $10,000 bonus

    • Total annual bonus opportunity: $17,500–$27,500

  • Equity Path: Equity discussion triggered at $100K MRR milestone. This role has a direct path to VP Product or GM of the Caddy business unit as the product scales.

  • Year 1 OTE: $117,500–$127,500 (on-target to stretch).

Benefits

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance

  • Paid time off and holidays

  • 401(k) with match

  • Remote-first flexibility

  • Direct access to the CEO — no layers, no bureaucracy

  • Career path to VP Product or General Manager as Caddy scales

  • Equity opportunity for proven performers
