Freelance Special Projects Manager (U.S. Only)

The Freelance Special Projects Manager, Brand Innovation & Strategy will assist in the execution and project management of our interdepartmental tentpole franchises for both Apartment Therapy and Kitchn (which includes, but is not limited to, in-person experiential activations including the award-winning Small/Cool Experience, virtual/social events, consumer sampling initiatives, Editorial/Sales/Commerce collaborations, and more!). The right candidate will be a master at multitasking, an excellent communicator, have an eye for detail, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. 

ROLE/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the creation and management of internal and external timelines for project deliverables, feedback, and approvals for overall executions as well as individual branded activations taking place as part of the programs. The majority of these executions will be post-sale, with occasional pre-sale needs in partnership with Brand Innovation & Strategy marketers. 

  • Gather all deliverables and packaging for clients, talent, and internal stakeholders on or ahead of due dates, customizing as necessary (elements may include: informational guides, asset packages, event resources, and more) 

  • Manage product orders and coordinate respective shipping needs 

  • Traffic materials between all stakeholders, including assets for client approvals, promotional elements, post-event assets, and more  

  • Keep all collaborating teams on track for timely deliveries and problem-solve where necessary to ensure projects move smoothly

  • Participate in internal and external campaign kickoff calls and create corresponding materials (e.g., scope of work, call agenda, meeting notes, etc.)  

  • Assist with asset development as it relates to campaigns (including writing promotional copy and proofreading) 

  • Manage executional hard costs and work with Special Projects Director to reconcile campaign P&Ls 

  • Assist in the creation of program wrap reports that recap programs for advertisers and communicate the success of executions

  • Maintain strong relationships with third-party vendors for custom outsourced campaign elements

  • Support Sales Directors and Account Managers on client calls as it relates to relevant projects (on an as needed basis)

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of experience managing projects, preferably at a publisher or event product company 

  • Impeccably organized, highly attentive to detail, and skilled at managing multiple projects at once

  • A self-started, quick to learn and eager to take on responsibilities

  • Excellent communication and writing skills

  • Proficient in Keynote and Google applications (Sheets, Slides, and Docs)

  • Passion for home design and cooking is a plus!

LOCATION: Currently remote, but will eventually be in the NYC office when we safely return. 

NOTE: In-person attendance in New York City will be required for our tentpole event in April and May 2022.
