Position Overview
Birchbox is seeking a Director, Global Planning & Strategy to drive success in achieving the revenue targets for the global eshops (United States, United Kingdom, and Spain). This position is responsible for creating global strategies for buying and assortment planning and overseeing local implementation. The Director, Global Planning & Strategy will use their knowledge of retail and e-commerce industry trends to provide direction to our e-commerce shop businesses.
This is a remote based position, open to candidates in the United States.
Responsibilities
Lead the global strategic direction for the Birchbox e-commerce shop assortment planning, including having a perspective on the size and growth potential for divisional, department, subclass and singular products and brands.
Manage a team of market specific eshop Managers and Associates in implementing global strategy at a local level.
Identify opportunities to expand new or existing categories, as well as refine existing assortments to build assortment plans that achieve topline revenue goals.
Partner with the Finance team and Business Intelligence and Analytics team to build financial sales, gross margin, and inventory plans for samples and full-size to align with topline financial goals and execute them.
Optimize cash flow by managing sample and full-size inventory budget to drive profitable growth in both e-commerce and subscription businesses.
Deliver regular business insights recapping performance and providing recommendations for merchandising and marketing initiatives based on revenue and inventory trends.
Model potential deal terms and assess financial and strategic impact to the company.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or above
7+ years of experience in a quantitative role (planning, finance, buying, etc.)
Skilled in Excel, Google Analytics, Metabase (BI reporting)
Experience in beauty, subscription, well-being or healthcare related industries
Highly analytical with an ability to synthesize large amounts of data and create actionable insights and develop strategy
