Product Manager, Business Applications

The Product Manager, Business Applications is responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the Product Life Cycle for internal applications and tools, including gathering and prioritizing product and stakeholder requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with Business Applications and our key stakeholders which include (but not limited to) Sales, Support, Marketing, Finance and Self-serve to ensure satisfactory goals are met. The Product Manager’s job also includes ensuring that the product supports the company’s overall strategy and goals. You will report to the Director of IT, and this position is 100% remote.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, define, and document internal product requirements.

  • Gather and prioritize product and stakeholder requirements.

  • Write User Stories including acceptance criteria.

  • Prioritize product requirements in alignment with stakeholder needs.

  • Collaborate with the Business Applications Engineering Manager and Business Applications Engineering team to clarify use cases, define requirements, and prioritize user stories across product backlogs.

  • Groom Product Backlog and decompose stories with the Business Applications team to prepare to commit release(s).

  • Answer questions from engineers and stakeholders to clarify user stories.

  • Attend meetings including standups, retrospectives, and demos.

  • Oversee product planning and execution throughout the product life cycle.

  • Work closely with cross functional teams: Business Applications, Self-serve, Sales, Marketing, Support, Finance, etc to deliver successful outcomes.

  • Review documentation and release notes for accuracy. 

  • Demonstrate the latest iterations to stakeholders (pre-release) and gather feedback.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience in Product Management for SaaS, Enterprise software or experience as a Software Engineer or DevOps Engineer experience in a related field, with a solid understanding of Product Management disciplines. 

  • We prefer Product Managers with a technical background; a Bachelor’s degree in Comp Sci or 3 years as an engineer, DevOps engineer, or software engineer

  • In-depth understanding of Agile product development methodologies. 

  • Demonstrated success in Product Management

  • Solid understanding of the product life cycle and software development process.

  • Proficient in Backlog Management, Project and Engineering concepts and tools (Zenhub, GitHub, Miro, Monday.com, LucidCharts, Jira, etc).

  • Ability to communicate clearly throughout all levels and disciplines in the organization

  • Build and track Objectives and Key Results (OKR)

  • Comfortable working with multiple teams, 100% remote

  • Confident in preparing for and handling challenging business discussions. 

  • Able to build strong interpersonal relationships with, leadership, senior management, and internal stakeholders. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

Bonus Points

  • Experience using GitHub and ZenHub

  • Familiarity with finance systems such as Ubersmith, Intacct, bill.com, etc

  • Familiarity with the monitoring, observability, log aggregation, or APM market
