About the team:
The Program Management Office is a rapidly growing team that manages the most complex programs in the company. Members of the team are responsible for ensuring the on time, high quality delivery of programs to the customer, and work closely with product and engineering teams to make it happen.
About the job:
In this role, reporting to the Director of Program Management, you will be the first Scrum Master in our product engineering department, working initially with 1 team and eventually up to 3. You will utilize your experience with a variety of agile practices and methodologies to help the team find the right practices for their needs and develop a culture of healthy agile principles. The ideal candidate is comfortable with working in a continuously evolving and sometimes unstructured environment, and can define their own backlog through iteration and investigation.
What you’ll do:
Foster continuous improvement by leading retrospectives, identifying areas of inefficiency, and creating data driven experiments for improvement.
Identify, capture and utilize metrics and team health data to help the team effectively forecast and find a sustainable velocity.
Help to unblock teams from outside dependencies.
Help to align team goals with organizational goals. Work with product and program managers to align with the product vision, identify and manage dependencies, set goals and keep the team on track.
Teach and document agile practices and maintain artifacts as practices evolve. Share these practices with other teams so that they can also learn from the team’s learnings.
Help to progress tooling (Jira, Confluence, etc) to best support the team’s needs while also supporting org wide tooling best practices.
What we’re looking for:
3 years of hands-on experience as a Scrum Master.
Experience with Jira. Experience and expertise with Jira administration and/or Script Runner preferred.
Experience shipping B2C software with mobile app experience preferred.
Strong analytical abilities and a proactive approach to gathering metrics.
Expert knowledge of Scrum techniques and application.
Background in software development preferred.
