
Social Media Director (U.S. Only)

Job Summary
The social media director is a performance marketing function that reports to the head of performance marketing and works alongside the paid media, retention, content, and influencer functions. This role owns & drives the strategy and is responsible for all social media activities.
Drive audience acquisition, development & engagement, community management, monthly giveaways, challenges, brand partnerships, and cross-platform brand adherence.
Collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure adherence. Build and continuously refine strategy across key identified platforms to drive engagement.
Oversee creation of native, focussed, curated content, and engaging narrative on social media by collaboratively working with content, influencer, and brand departments. Champion integrated social media content development across different functions.
Plan and monitor paid campaigns on social media. Continuously evaluate performance.
Direct cross-functional efforts for maximizing organic and inorganic traffic generation.
Own budget for social media initiatives. Ensure maximization of ROI across target platforms

Oversee data-driven social media campaign analysis to distillate actionable insights. Provide regular reports to your performance team peers as well as periodic reporting to the executive leadership team.
Ensure the social media team stays up to date on new market and community trends. Recalibrate the social media approach as necessary to stay on top of emerging markets and technologies.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
8-10 years of experience in the development and execution of integrated and innovative content campaigns in the Digital Marketing and/or eCommerce marketplace, ideally in the cosmetic goods or consumer industry. At least 3 years in a leadership role.
Demonstrable experience in driving ad strategy. Strategic vision with deep knowledge of the latest trends and developments in the digital content space.
Strong background in content management, digital advertisements, and social media.
Experience running creative content teams across various digital marketing channels.
Up to date on creative content trends, visual language best practices, and various design styles. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Adobe Premier, Photoshop, Illustrator etc. Basic understanding of digital marketing channels, tactics & strategies (SEO, PPC, Display).
Excellent leadership and organizing skills. High motivation and ethical standards.
Strategic and creative thinking; outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to communicate with and influence executive positions. Result-driven attitude.
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS
BSc/BA in Business Administration, Marketing and Communications or comparable field. May be offset by outstanding experience in a relevant field and/or role.
PREFERRED
Previous experience in either consumer goods or cosmetic & beauty industry preferred.
Previous leadership roles in Digital Marketing and/ or eCommerce majors an advantage.
