
National Sales Manager

Role overview:
We're most importantly looking for people who are excited about our vision and mission. We're redefining the category of financial wellness, and have passionate customers who can vouch for this.
We have repeatable traction on the sales side, as well as organic growth. The opportunity with this role is to join a fast-growing company that has hit the inflection point, and bring best practices in sales and leadership to continue the growth of the department.
In this role, you will:
Be a foundational member of a quickly growing sales team
Collaborate with sales leadership on strategy, training, and process for salespeople to achieve ambitious revenue goals
Manage the day-to-day performance of all sales team members and deliver reviews
Lead and schedule weekly and/or monthly team meetings with the sales team and leadership
Coach and develop direct reports all over the country
Participate directly in complex sales deals and late stage customer negotiations
Ensure the correct usage of CRM and other sales applications
Collaborate with all parts of the Northstar team, including customer success, marketing, financial planning, and product

You will become the first sales manager in the department and as you execute and hit revenue targets and the team scales as a result, you will have opportunities on quick upward mobility.
Our team is very cross-functional. Titles are fluid, when everyone contributes to solving a problem in their unique ways. Our team is highly collaborative, and we do our best work when collaborating with each other.
You should:
Have at least six years of total software sales experience selling to a range of customer sizes
Have at least 2 years of prior management experience; experience selling to HR/benefits teams a plus
Have a proven track record of meeting or exceeding performance objectives (revenue targets, pipeline targets, etc.)
Know how to navigate cross-functionally within an enterprise to map stakeholders, build champions, generate buy-in, and close deals with VP and C-Level decision makers
Have experience in the early high growth stages of a startup
Have strong presentation skills; Executive level communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to mentor others
Be comfortable with traveling at least 25% of the time (post COVID-19)
