
Senior Accountant, General Ledger (U.S. Only)
Plastiq's Accounting & Finance team is growing! We are currently seeking a motivated Senior Accountant who is excited about helping Plastiq scale, so that we can support the thousands of SMBs who rely on our technology to help their businesses thrive. As the Senior Accountant, you are responsible for the general ledger activities and all aspects of the month end close process. You will also be a key contributor to the annual external audit and assist with technical accounting matters as they arise. This role includes a balanced combination of operational and technical elements that allow for a challenging and impactful professional opportunity.
Successful candidate must be able to work west coast hours.
In this role, you will:
Support the month end, quarter end, and year end close process for various balance sheet and income statement accounts
Prepare consolidated financial statements for management and investors
Prepare monthly P&L flux analysis for management reporting and analysis
Manage cash and perform monthly bank account and various GL account reconciliations
Own the fixed assets and accounts receivable process
Assist with preparation of all investor and external reporting
Assist with developing and improving accounting policies and guidelines
Play an important role in finance projects, financial statement audits, and other assignments as we take the finance function to the next level of business impact
We also have plenty of other ad-hoc projects that you may work on as necessary
Your experience:
You’ve earned your bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
With 5-7 years of related experience, you’ve ideally had a mix of audit (public accounting) and operational experience in the tech industry
You have an ability to work on complex accounting issues while exercising good judgement in selecting methods and evaluation criteria to obtain results
Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
You have a demonstrated ability to provide creative solutions to real-time challenges With exceptional written and oral communication skills, you are able to effectively disseminate information
You have the ability to determine methods and procedures on new assignments, you may also coordinate activities with other team members
You apply your excellent reconciliation skills to all projects
