The Retreat Leader’s role is to oversee all retreats on a global level, ensuring the success of each program from start to finish. The ideal candidate is highly organized and proactive in their approach to work. They are energized by community-living and thrive in intensive, hands-on, rewarding, human experiences. They are customer-centered and will be quick on their feet to solve issues and community needs. This person is excited to co-create with our local as well as global teams to deliver a unique, memorable and delightful customer experience.

About the role:
The Retreats Leader oversees all Remote Year retreats on a global level. They work closely with our Head of Learn and Travel to strategically manage and operate the success of our retreats. A thriving Retreats Leader is willing to travel on a monthly basis, and most skilled at organization and operations, while having the heart of a community builder. They will manage each retreat as its own project, be 100% present while on-the-ground during each program, and understand how each retreat fits within the larger vision of Remote Year. Lastly, the Retreats Leader must be self-driven, proactive and excited to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
Responsibilities:
Include and are not limited to:
Securing venues and arranging all logistics (transportation, food, room arrangements etc.) for a smooth group arrival and retreat execution
Building and managing a global network of facilitators and vendors in each retreat location to provide memorable content, excursions and local experiences
Co-build retreat schedules with local teams and facilitators
Communications with guests before, during and after the retreat to ensure they are well-prepared and informed for all the programming
Building community for each retreat program to feel like a tribe of life-long friendships
Keeping track of budget sheets for each retreat
Being the face of Remote Year on the retreat and the voice of customers to Remote Year
Collecting feedback from each retreat participant and problem-solving on the spot as well as for longer term issues
Embodying Remote Year’s mission, values, and Code of Conduct, leading by example
On a mission to provide a transformative experience for Remotes
Qualifications:
Event planning and organization experience
Community management and engagement experience
Experience managing groups of 20-40 guests
Experience building and managing a team
Strong empathy, emotional intelligence and relationship building skills
Effective communicator and good attention to detail
Flexibility and ability to creatively solve problems in the moment
Conflict resolution skills
Customer support, travel, and hospitality experience
Champion for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
Excellent English speaking ability and knowledge of another language is a plus
Retreats coordination experience preferred
Tourism experience preferred
Experience working abroad (not in your country of origin)
Experience working remotely
Ability and desire to travel on monthly basis
