Social Media Specialist

Summary

As one of the agency’s thought leaders in social media, the Social Media Specialist will develop, execute, and assess innovative social media strategies. You will collaborate closely with digital, accounts and creative teams to ensure initiatives are integrated across the brand space in an efficient and holistic manner.

Accountabilities:

  • Work with the account team, creative leadership and the client to define social media strategy, content plans, objectives and tactics.

  • Assist the account team in driving client value through identifying untapped social media opportunities.

  • Brainstorm and develop social media plans that fit into the client’s overall goals.

  • Create content calendars based on client strategy and campaign deliverables.

  • Measure the impact of social media campaigns on the overall marketing efforts for clients and adjust plans accordingly to generate goal-oriented results.

  • Deliver on the following day-to-day deliverables as per account:

    • Setup and optimize client pages within each platform to increase the visibility of client's social content.

    • Content creation/editing in tandem with the content writer.

    • Social media community engagement

    • Consult on and schedule boosted content.

    • Account management such as posting/linking/scheduling, etc.

    • Social listening

    • Timeline management, action logs and related process documents

    • Craft and review analytic reports and final campaigns analysis

    • Speak to successes and learnings.

  • Monitor trends in social media tools and stay up to date on changes in the social media space

  • Help create brand personality across social channels and work with creative team members to develop digital-friendly social creative.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in social media/digital marketing or similar position in an agency or comparable industry environment.

  • A university degree, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

  • Experienced with Social Media Management Platforms (Hootsuite, Sprout, etc.)

  • Experienced with Social Media Applications (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)

  • Strong writing skills; ability to articulate and summarize client needs and requirements as well as recommendations

  • Experienced in Digital design

  • Experience with managing, communicating and building relationships with clients

  • Strong planning and scheduling abilities

  • Experienced managing a budget

  • Project Management experience
