The Creative Team is dedicated to making Tile’s brand and our superior features stand out in consideration as the finding category continues to grow at an incredible rate. Through outstanding design across digital, education, and storytelling, our goal is to evolve Tile particularly as we take on key competitors in the space as the original category leader.
We are looking for a proven digital-first creative director who can run with our latest brand work and drive towards a new vision for how Tile’s brand comes to life on our digital properties and through all aspects of marketing. You will be tasked with helping us really push the envelope and ensure that it shines on all our key marketing channels including web, advertising, mobile, paid and organic social, email, partner assets, retail assets and shippers. You’ll manage the internal creative services team and agencies to help evolve the brand, and bring marketing initiatives to life. You will be tasked with establishing our creative strategy from a challenger brand perspective to help define what our brand looks and feels like.
As the design team lead, you’ll inspire and empower teams to do their best work. You’re motivated to create compelling work, grounded in strategy and focused on the long-term objectives of the business. You can listen with affinity, explain the “whys” behind decisions, push the status quo, and represent your viewpoints with conviction. This role balances the duties of running projects, guiding concept development, and rolling up your sleeves to work out the details. Whatever the brief, you seek to build an authentic connection with audiences, through the best expressions of our brand.

Responsibilities:
Redefine our Brand look/feel and how we show up to customers leveraging the brand positioning work that has been done and interpreting the data into visual concepts that our marketing channels can springboard from
Manage the Creative team to drive excellent work, translate the look, feel and character of the Tile brand and push concepts to delivery across multiple platforms, channels and campaigns.
Design communications systems for new products and features
Partner with cross functional teams: Marketing, Sales, and Senior Leadership to understand strategy, business goals, timelines and create marketing & sales materials including paid social, organic social, video, emails, websites, presentations, and brand campaigns while being a strategic voice for design
Help evolve the Tile brand visuals leveraging our recent brand work to build out our new style guide, templates, website, and digital framework for all core channels
Work with cross functional teams to ensure brand consistency in creative execution across Sales, Marketing, and DTC
Participate in and help facilitate Creative and Marketing design brainstorming, ideation sessions, and concepting
About You:
You have a digital first perspective on design
You have a vision for how to tackle the competition from a challenger standpoint
You have built teams and have a track record for growing junior members
You understand ADA compliance guidelines and framework for web design
You have a track record of pushing the design status quo
Your vocabulary includes responsive design, site speed, mobile first
You are equally passionate about craft and strategy
You are detail-oriented while being able to see the big picture
You are a great thought partner with cross-functional teams
You have managed a design team that sings your praises for being a great boss
You are an excellent and clear communicator and transparent with your teams’ work
You exude a can-do attitude and enthusiasm
You are self-aware and humble
Qualifications:
10+ years experience in digital graphic design with 5+ years managing a team of internal and/or agency/freelance designers
Digital first experience with best practices
An online portfolio with examples of responsive websites, ads, print materials
Experience working in a startup environment
Strong sense of typography, conceptually, visual design, and composition
Excellent communication and writing skills
Working knowledge of print, packaging and point of sale design/production
Experience using Sketch and Adobe Creative Suite
Working knowledge of Illustration, photography, and video skills
Experience working for a consumer electronics brand and DTC a plus
