Senior AP/AR/Payroll Specialist Q1-24

We are seeking an experienced AP, AR, and Payroll Specialist to join our team. The AP, AR, and Payroll Specialist will be primarily responsible for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll Management, and Expense Reimbursement tasks for SaaS companies and other online service-based businesses.  The ideal candidate should have a strong desire to utilize their extensive knowledge and experience.

We are seeking a candidate who has prior experience working remotely and possesses self-reliance, proactivity, and responsibility. The candidate must also hold a high regard for thoughtful, timely, and responsive communication. They must demonstrate a strong ability to solve problems and manage multiple clients while organizing and prioritizing their projects. However, the most significant quality of this role is impeccable attention to detail.

Punctuality, the ability to follow a set schedule while being flexible to accommodate work needs, and effective time management are highly valued.  This is a client-facing position; thus, we are looking for someone with social skills, a helpful attitude, and experience with external/internal communication.  Lastly, we are looking for a long-term staff member who is motivated to help our startup grow and succeed for years to come.

We are looking for a team member specifically with these requirements:

  • Native English or close to a native speaker

  • Bachelor's Degree or MBA in Accounting or related field

  • Has at least 5+ years of accounting experience, handling Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll as well as other accounting responsibilities/functions

  • Has experience working with software companies, fintech, lead generation, and/or online service-based businesses

  • Experience in managing Accountants / small teams is preferred

  • Knowledgeable in Accounting systems and related platforms such as Quickbooks Online, Xero,, Expensify, Karbon project management, Gusto, MS Office, etc.

  • Experience in managing and coordinating client concerns and solutions

  • Familiarity with different online communication platforms (Google Suite, Slack, Loom, and Teams) 

  • Familiarity and comfort with technology and a variety of online service platforms

  • Has the ability to prioritize projects, delegate work, set goals, and schedules 

  • Comfortable working on US hours

Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Management of complete AP process for clients such as:

    • Bill platforms such as, Xero, QBO, etc., 

    • Initiate payments in various financial platforms (Wise, Payoneer, Paypal, client bank accounts, etc.),

    • Collect required documentation from vendors before processing payments (1099s, w8Ben, etc),

    • Miscellaneous correspondence with vendors, contractors, and other payees.

  • Management of complete AR process for clients such as:

    • Invoice platforms such as QBO, Xero,, etc., 

    • The ability to review, understand, and provide recommendations for a sales process related to the accounts receivable function,

    • A complete understanding of invoice preparation,

    • Collection of outstanding invoices,

    • Miscellaneous correspondence with clients and customers related to the performance of the AR function. 

  • Management of payroll duties for clients

    • Assume ownership of the client payroll calendar, ensuring payroll deadlines are met consistently.

    • Process payroll adjustments, including but not limited to hiring, terminations, bonuses, maternity leave, etc.

    • Correspond with tax advisors on payroll-related adjustments on an ad hoc basis

  • Management of expense reimbursements for clients with and without software applications.

  • Highly responsive communication with clients and the internal team via video conference, e-mail, Slack, etc.
