Premium Invention remium Invention is a profitable DTC brand selling premium security cameras (~$500) across North America. We sell primarily to North America and we’re scaling aggressively with ton of new product launches this year.

We're a lean, global team of ~15 people. You'll report directly to the CEO. Marketing needs its own leader. That's this role.

Location: Remote — Must maintain 4 hours of daily overlap with GMT+8 (China Standard Time).

THE ROLE

You'll own the entire marketing ecosystem and build the growth team from the ground up. You report directly to the CEO with full ownership of the website and landing pages, paid acquisition, email and retention, product launch strategy, and emerging channels. This is a department-building role with real autonomy, real budget, and direct accountability for revenue.

You'll have budget to hire 2–3 direct reports and full responsibility for building and managing your team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the website and landing page strategy — structure, messaging hierarchy, conversion optimization. You direct the copywriter and designer; you own the output. Every new product launch starts with you building the page that sells it.

  • Own paid acquisition across Meta and Google Ads. Manage and scale a 5-figure monthly ad budget. Full authority to allocate, test, and expand into new channels based on performance. You don't need to be in the ad accounts daily.

  • Build the email and retention program in Klaviyo from the ground up — welcome flows, cart abandonment, post-purchase, win-back, and promotional campaigns.

  • Lead go-to-market strategy for monthly product launches — pre-launch positioning through scaling winners and cutting underperformers.

  • Develop channels beyond paid: affiliates, influencer partnerships, community, SEO/content, and AI search optimization.

  • Build marketing analytics and attribution. Create dashboards, fix tracking, and separate what's actually driving revenue from what platforms report.

  • Hire, manage, and develop your team. You choose who joins, set priorities, and own their output.

  • Weekly strategy and performance reviews with the CEO.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Personally scaled a DTC or e-commerce brand past $5M+ in revenue. You drove the growth — not "contributed to a team." You can speak to what you did, what worked, and what failed.

  • Comfortable owning landing page and website strategy — not just ads. If your experience is purely paid media optimization, this isn't the right fit.

  • Managed significant monthly ad budgets profitably across Meta and Google. You think in contribution margin, not just ROAS.

  • Built and managed a marketing team of 3–5+ people. You know how to hire, brief, and hold people accountable.

  • Physical product experience — you understand COGS, shipping, inventory, and how they affect marketing decisions. Purely SaaS backgrounds are not the right fit.

  • Ecosystem thinker — email, affiliates, community, content, influencers, AI search. You see marketing as interconnected channels, not isolated platforms.

  • AI-native but independent — you use AI daily as a force multiplier, but you know when it's wrong. We specifically test for this.

  • Excellent English communication. You'll write strategy docs, brief creative teams, and present to leadership weekly.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience marketing premium products against cheaper mass-market alternatives.

  • Familiarity with outdoor, security, hardware, or off-grid product categories.

  • Shopify Plus ecosystem experience.

  • Track record building community presence on Reddit, niche forums, or review platforms.

  • Experience with attribution challenges — you understand that Meta and Google overstate, and you've built systems to find the truth.

COMPENSATION & GROWTH

  • $8,000 USD/month base salary

  • Monthly performance bonuses tied to revenue milestones — structured so your pay scales directly with your impact. Total compensation reaches $12,000+/month as the business grows, with no cap on upside.

  • Equity conversation at 12 months based on impact.

  • Full tooling and resources: ad budgets, hiring budget for your team, and the tools you need to execute.

  • This role grows into VP Marketing / CMO as the company scales.

  • Hubstaff time tracking from Day 1. We measure output, not hours — but accountability is non-negotiable.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the work schedule?
40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. We need approximately 4 hours of daily overlap for sync. The rest of your day is flexible async work. Most of the marketing team is in Europe and South Africa.
What is the salary?
~$8000usd/m based on experience. There's a monthly performance bonus tied to revenue milestones and marketing efficiency that brings total monthly salary up to $12,000+/month with no cap. We share the full bonus structure during the interview process.
Do you use time tracking?
Yes. The entire company uses Hubstaff from Day 1 regardless of role or seniority. We're a fully remote team across multiple time zones and accountability is part of how we operate. We measure output over hours, but transparency is non-negotiable.
