We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. This role is a full-time position. You’ll work directly with clients and internal team members to manage full-cycle accounting needs, lead financial conversations, and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial deliverables. You’ll also serve as a mentor to junior team members and be empowered to take ownership of projects with minimal oversight.

We are looking for a Senior Accountant specifically with these requirements:

What You’ll Do:

  • Technical & Strategic Accounting

    • Manage complex month-end close processes and full-cycle accounting tasks with precision and independence.

    • Apply expert-level GAAP knowledge to analyze client financials, identify red flags, and provide actionable recommendations.

    • Review staff accountant work and offer constructive feedback to support their growth.

    Client Ownership & Communication

    • Lead client communications and meetings, translating complex financial information into clear guidance.

    • Respond to client needs promptly and professionally, always aiming to build trust and long-term relationships.

    • Communicate clearly with both internal and external stakeholders and proactively flag potential issues.

    Problem-Solving & Decision-Making

    • Independently solve nuanced accounting problems and provide practical solutions that align with client and company goals.

    • Exercise professional skepticism when reviewing data and assumptions, always seeking clarity and confidence before finalizing conclusions.

    • Take initiative and ownership of work without waiting for instruction.

    Leadership & Team Collaboration

    • Mentor and guide junior accountants, helping them develop technical and critical thinking skills.

    • Collaborate with team members on systems, processes, and client deliverables while modeling high standards and helpfulness.

    • Contribute positively to our remote culture by participating in team channels and acknowledging team wins.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field

  • 7+ years of accounting experience, handling accounting responsibilities/functions

  • High level of detail and accuracy

  • Strong ability and desire to be self-sufficient, use professional skepticism and critical thinking

  • Has the ability to prioritize projects, set goals, and schedules 

  • A positive, helpful, and can-do attitude

  • Attentive and responsive communication with clients and the internal team

  • Comfortable working on US hours

  • Experience with online platforms such as Xero, QBO, Google Suite, Slack, MS365, etc.

  • Familiarity and comfort with technology

What’s Nice to Have

  • Has experience working with software companies, fintech, lead generation, and/or online service-based businesses

  • CPA, ACCA, or similar license

  • Experience in bootstrapping and start-up companies

  • Physical presence close to US hours

  • Experience in managing Accountants / small teams

  • Background and experience in audit

  • Experience in Budgeting and Forecasting
