WE ARE LOOKING FOR AN INTERNATIONAL FINANCE DIRECTOR TO REPORT TO THE VP FINANCE/GLOBAL CONTROLLER, BOTH WORKING IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER TO BUILD AND EXECUTE APPFIRE’S WORLD CLASS FINANCIAL REPORTING PROCESS, STREAMLINE APPFIRE’S FINANCIAL SYSTEMS, PREPARE APPFIRE TO BE PUBLIC READY, AND SUPPORT APPFIRE’S EXPLOSIVE GROWTH STRATEGY.
What you will do
Strategic/Growth initiatives
Manage, develop and hire the finance and accounting foundation internationally, while consolidating the existing international entities (primarily in Europe) into NetSuite
Strengthen the accounting and financial reporting capabilities to support rapid growth and a potential IPO in next one to two years
Help prepare the company for public company accounting and reporting standards (PCAOB audits, SEC reporting and SOX compliance) including any relevant adoption of company-wide accounting policies and controls
Involvement with implementation of new ERP/Accounting System (likely NetSuite)
Drive internal process improvements, including internal controls and key performance indicators; help to measure and assess performance of the global accounting and finance organization and work to identify and implement opportunities, standardize, simplify and automate accounting related tasks.
Work cross functionally with the procurement, FP&A and operations at Corporate (United States) to improve accounting processes and reporting to ensure efficient and accurate flow of information between teams.
Assist in any hiring of additional staff accountants internationally.
Accounting
Oversee all statutory audits including management of external account firms for our international entities
Oversee the statutory filings, tax and VAT returns, and payroll and social security accounting
Assist in executing the consolidated month-end/quarter-end/year-end close
Oversee on all aspects of international entity accounting including, AR/AP, payroll, fixed asset reporting and control, internal and external financial reporting, financial controls, tax and cash management (working with the global team on any tax or cash management related projects)
Develop and maintain a well-documented system of accounting policies and procedures
Provide subject matter expertise on the implementation of accounting policies and the accounting for complex transactions.
M&A
Assist with post-acquisition integration processes, particularly onboarding new international acquisitions into the consolidated MI.
What we would like to see
8+ years of responsibility and execution within a global finance or accounting function, ideally (but not required) with related SaaS/Software/Tech experience, including demonstrated success as an accountant, financial professional, auditor or assistant controller in a global organization.
Experience consolidating or auditing a business with organic and inorganic growth
Experience (both technical and operational) with a recurring revenue business model
Fluent in English and Polish, every other language is a plus
Ideally, but not required, a CPA license or regional equivalent
Ideally, but not required, public accounting experience, preferably with a Big 4 or large National Firm, as well as industry experience
Detail-oriented, analytical and metrics-driven leveraging data to support business decisions
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Hands-on, roll-up your sleeves
