
Revenue Accounting Manager

About this role
We are looking for a detail-oriented Revenue Accounting Manager to join our Finance Organization with a focus on bringing best practices to our revenue accounting operations. In this role, you will create and implement policies, procedures, internal controls, and continuous improvements related to revenue processes.
In addition, you will be responsible for participating in the external audit process and ensuring that the company is in compliance with revenue and ASC 606 reporting requirements. The right candidate will successfully work cross-functionally with teams across the organization, including sales ops, billing and revenue operations, FP&A, IT, and more.

Manage review of new agreements and order forms
Collaborate closely with Deal Desk, Legal, Sales Ops, and Finance to structure deals in order to achieve the best revenue recognition results
Guide the business as we structure new business models and product offerings
Partner with cross functional teams to create scalable revenue processes
Lead Workday revenue recognition implementation
Implement ASC606 revenue recognition
Participate in the month-end close process, including invoicing audits, journal entry preparation, deferred revenue maintenance, account reconciliations, and related fluctuation analysis
Create and implement new policies and procedures
Establish and manage internal revenue controls and guidelines
Liaise with external auditors to review contract management and revenue recognition accounting and assessments, and to manage quarterly and annual audits
Assist with ad-hoc projects
What you bring to the role
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
CPA license is a must
Leadership experience at a B2B SaaS company, private or public (or both)
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP. Excellent understanding and working knowledge of ASC 606 and SOX.
Experience with marketplace order/invoice process a big plus
Experience with sales tax and Avalara a big plus
Leader who is detail-oriented, willing to roll up their sleeves, and able to multitask.
Has project management and team management experience
Extensive system implementation & system integration experience
Strong critical thinking skills and execution ability
Top-tier written and verbal communication
A love of problem solving
Bonus points if you have
Big Four experience
10 to 12 years of leadership roles at both private and public B2B SaaS/software companies
Experience with Workday a big plus
Experience with Salesforce, CPQ, Stripe, Avalara a big plus
