Our Vision

We started with the reinvention of insurance and a bold mission to create a data science powered platform that actually helps people become better drivers. We aspire to be the best in the business at identifying low-risk drivers by harnessing the power of data with an innovative technology stack.
It’s a big goal, and that’s where you come in. We're growing a world class team of data science, engineering, design, product, marketing and mobile technologists because we know that the key to success isn’t just about nailing the technology—it’s hiring the talented people who will help us make a quantifiable impact.
The Role:
We're looking for an experienced Principal Product Manager to join our Growth Product Pod, reporting to the Director of Product - Growth.
We look for Product Managers with a cross-functional set of skills. We expect that will spike in one or more areas, but baseline levels in each:
Human-centered design - PMs should have the ability to work backwards from a customer problem to identify potential solutions, conduct empathy interviews, work with designers, and keep the overall customer experience in mind as they are making tradeoffs.
Technical aptitude - We don’t expect PMs to write code, but they should have the ability to have conversations about technical tradeoffs with their engineers and understand the implications of a given choice on future projects and tech debt.
Business analysis - PMs should understand the business model, the levers that we can pull to impact our core metrics, and focus on delivering value to the customer in ways that are viable for the business.
Leadership and communication - PMs should be able to communicate all of the above clearly and concisely to people across the organization at appropriate levels of detail for different audiences. They should demonstrate structured thinking and have and use frameworks for decision making. We work across each functional group to ensure every team member understands the big picture and how they fit into it.
At Principal level, PMs should effortlessly manage a diverse set of stakeholders with minimal oversight and will probably have prior experience bringing others along a change curve.
In this role, you will collaborate with a cross-functional team in creating solutions that attract the right customers and minimize friction in their sign-up process. You’ll balance a deep customer empathy with an analytics informed approach to decision making that ensures we’re driving value for both our customers and the business.
Your day-to-day:
Grow the volume of qualified leads, and increase the conversion rate, while partnering closely with our Insurance team to ensure underwriting, pricing, fraud, and regulatory compliance requirements are met
Understand the business context, estimate the impact of competing projects, and work with partner teams to scope and prioritize accordingly
Develop an understanding of our customer’s consideration and purchase journey by designing and reviewing experiments
Manage a portfolio of short- and long-term development projects and tests as we iterate toward a high-performance customer acquisition engine
Foster cooperation between cross-functional team members from Design, Engineering, Project Management, Analytics, and Research
Collaborate closely with Growth Marketing and Insurance teams to communicate product roadmaps and experimentation updates
Contribute to a Product team culture of iterating on both products and processes
About you:
Significant Product Management experience working with teams of engineers and designers to craft product strategy, align stakeholders, and execute on delivery
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a broad toolbox of influence styles
Track record of managing technically complex products across lifecycle stages
Comfort with data and business models, understanding of experimental design and related statistics, and experience with A/B testing approaches and tools
Bonus Points:
Experience in growth product management for consumer financial products
Salary:
$200,000 to $275,000
