
Senior Tax Manager
Clover is reinventing health insurance by working to keep people healthier.
The Senior Tax Manager will oversee all workflows of the Tax Department, including tax reporting and compliance. This position will implement and communicate the company taxation strategy for use in all transactions and will be responsible for working with internal and external counterparts, as well as state and federal agencies to ensure compliance at all levels. This individual should have a high degree of interpersonal skill and will be expected to communicate across departments to reach comprehensive conclusions (where applicable).
As a Senior Tax Manager, you will:
Oversee the completion of the quarterly tax provisions and address any accounting issues as needed.
Direct the preparation and timely filing of the US federal income tax return and state and local returns.
Implement a process for sales tax compliance, including completion of sales tax returns, gathering information and processing payments for the company.
Manage income tax/sales tax related audits.
Review the tax portion of the quarterly and year-end consolidated financial statements, and work closely with other departments on the overall statements.
Maintain control procedures associated with tax reporting, including documentation of internal controls to support compliance with Sarbanes Oxley.
Ensure tax procedures are sound and adhere to state and local tax regulations.
Lead tax planning initiatives to stay compliant with current and any new legislation surrounding tax practices.
Partner with various departments in responding to tax notices received by various jurisdictions.
Research and implement any legislative changes that may affect the tax functions.
Provide periodic updates to the management on the upcoming changes and potential impact on the reporting process.
Direct transfer pricing reporting and compliance.

You have a minimum of 7+ years in general corporate income tax and accounting environment, preferably in healthcare.
You have experience working with external tax research technology portals and accounting systems.
You have expert working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) including Google suite.
You have a CPA certification, required.
You have at minimum a bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, advanced degree preferred.
Big 4 public accounting experience (preferred).
