New Job! Remote Job
Company

UI/UX Artist & Designer

Job description

Embedded seamlessly within our clients’ in-house teams, we collaborate harmoniously to turn dreams into reality. Our portfolio boasts groundbreaking games developed in collaboration with major studios worldwide. As a fully remote studio, we value clear, continuous, and transparent communication as highly as technical expertise.

We are seeking a UI/UX artist to join our Unreal Engine 5 game project. The role requires both artistic, design skills and technical implementation knowledge, with a strong emphasis on building accessible, player-friendly interfaces for Nintendo Switch.

This is for a fixed term contract, however due to the nature of our business there is a likely chance this may be extended or turned into a permanent role longer term.

Job requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement intuitive UI layouts, menus, and HUD elements in Unreal Engine 5.

  • Create UX flows that prioritise clarity, usability, and accessibility for a wide range of players.

  • Follow the given art direction and expend upon its visual identity of the game’s interface, including iconography, typography, and graphic elements.

  • Collaborate with game designers, artists, and engineers to ensure UI/UX integrates seamlessly with gameplay systems.

  • Develop accessibility features such as scalable text, colorblind-safe palettes, control remapping, and audio/visual cues.

  • Produce wireframes, prototypes, and style guides for consistent design and art direction.

  • Optimise UI for performance across platforms without sacrificing clarity or accessibility.

  • Stay current on accessibility standards, best practices, and evolving player needs.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience designing UI/UX for games, ideally in Unreal Engine 5.

  • Experience level suited for intermediate to senior roles.

  • Strong portfolio showcasing interface design, visual polish, and player-centric workflows.

  • Knowledge of Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG and Nintendo accessibility standards for Switch).

  • Ability to translate complex gameplay systems into clear, usable interfaces.

  • Strong graphic design fundamentals: composition, typography, hierarchy, spacing.

  • Can deliver polished, game-ready elements showcasing strong illustrative instincts (Icon sets, etc.)

  • Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Unreal UMG/Slate.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills across disciplines, time zones, and cultures in a small, fast-paced team.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with motion design or animation for UI transitions.

  • Familiarity with localisation and supporting multiple languages.

  • Knowledge of player research, usability testing, and iterative design.

Benefits:

  • A competitive salary.

  • A clear career progression path with opportunities for growth and recognition.

  • Fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere.

  • Access to mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals in the gaming industry.

  • Be part of a passionate and dynamic team working on exciting, boundary-pushing projects.
