What Are We Looking For?

Are you a Senior UX Designer with a love for user testing and research? Do you make data based design decisions? GoBankingRates is seeking an experienced senior product designer to design our digital marketing products.

What's interesting about this role? 

This role will help build the best digital experiences for customers so they may Live Richerâ„¢. Your design and technical skills will help problem solve for all digital touch points, improve conversion performance, and your design mentorship will help motivate and groom Design outsource talent. In this role, you should be an analytical and creative designer who is able to grasp product needs and solve problems. A strong portfolio of successful redesigns and other technical projects is essential.

How Will You Make an Impact?

  • Understand product specifications and user workflows

  • Work with product managers to create personas through user research and data

  • Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers and engineers

  • Communicate design ideas and prototypes to developers

  • Develop and create innovative concepts in keeping with project scope, strategic positioning, and timelines

  • Prepare, conduct, and validate working hypothesis’ with customers through usability research of wireframes, clickable prototypes and published product, and participate in design critique

  • Find creative ways to solve UX problems (e.g. usability, findability)

  • Working knowledge of current front-end capabilities and limitations to partner closely with development to implement solutions.

  • Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness)

  • Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback

  • Adhere to style standards on fonts, colors and images

  • Keep abreast of competitor products and industry trends

  • Plan and implement user research strategies and methodologies

What Will You Bring To Us?

  • 5+years of industry experience designing software products, digital marketing, or web services

  • 3+ years experience conducting user research in software development, e-commerce, content development, entertainment, or equivalent

  • Experience managing projects and deadlines with emphasis on both quality and timely delivery

  • Strong portfolio of design projects

  • Full grasp of mobile and responsive design standards and best practices

  • Deep understanding of the tools of the trade (Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, Zeplin, InVision, and other prototyping tools)

  • Experience with remote testing tools

  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS; JavaScript is a plus

  • Problem-solving aptitude and adaptability

  • Analytical mind with a business acumen

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Good time-management skills

  • Ability to translate complex information into easy-to-understand designs and visual elements

  • Team spirit; strong communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders

  • Experience working with outsource groups is a plus

  • Ability to quickly and effectively share research results

  • Ability to write test documentation such as test plans, scripts and reports
