Treasury / Accounting Assistant

The Treasury / Accounting Assistant performs daily financial tasks that support our Empire Flippers team and Director of Finance. The person in this role is well-versed in accounting principles and able to work comfortably with numbers with attention to detail.  The Treasury / Accounting Assistant contributes to the overall efficient operation of the Finance department and maintains awareness of the company’s financial condition.

Essential Functions

  1. Banking / Financial Transactions

    a. Monitor and process outgoing banking transactions to customers and vendors, including wire transfers, ACH and crypto currency transactions

    b. Monitor and process incoming banking transactions and issue client invoices

  2. Assist Director of Finance in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings, including department allocations and account reconciliations 

  3. Enter recurring journal entries for all incoming and outgoing transactions in Quickbooks

  4. Investigate and reconcile debit/credit issues and identify discrepancies

  5. Provide payroll-related support to the workforce

  6. Prepare sale-related documents such as Bills of Sale, Sales Receipts, Payment Ledgers, etc

  7.  Assist Director of Finance with quality assurance and conducting audits

  8.  Check spreadsheets for accuracy.

  9.  Assist with special dept. projects or other duties as needed

  10.  Customer service and interdepartmental team support - respond to finance-related inquiries regarding best practices, payment options and banking requirements

  11. Continually provide feedback and suggestions for improvement of the EF platform and team processes

Required Skills 

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting / Finance or related field

  • Financial Institution or Treasury Experience desired

  • Must reside within United States time zones

  • 1099 is an option if not a resident of the states in which Empire Flippers is registered

  • You must be a good fit with us culturally 

  • You must have a solid understanding of general accounting, accounts payable and accounts receivable principles;

  • Familiarity with wire and cryptocurrency payment processing methods desired

  • 2+ years of solid business experience in Treasury, Finance or Accounting with a USA-based company;

  • Experience in QB Online/QB Desktop software products is required;

  • You must have some background and hands-on experience with spreadsheet creation and proprietary software;

  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records;

  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills;

  • You are proficient with Google Suite, Slack and Zoom;

  • You must be highly motivated, goal-driven and coachable;

  • A background in e-commerce or online business is also helpful
