JOB DESCRIPTION
Empower is searching for a Director of Analytics to uplevel our customer insights, product analytics and marketing intelligence and improve our decision-making and ROI across investments. This role is an exciting first for the company and will help lead and nurture a strong data-driven mindset. This individual will report to the Head of Finance and Operations.
The ideal candidate is passionate about using data to drive business growth. This individual will specialize in extracting, assessing, and interpreting data sets from multiple sources to scale our business, acquire, engage and retain the best-fit customers. The right person for this role is someone who loves teasing out actionable insights from the data and sharing recommendations and next steps with the product team, the marketing team, and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
Introduce sound statistical analysis and rigorous data-driven decision-making to continuously improve our customer experience, product retention and the ROI of our marketing and advertising initiatives and campaigns.
Work closely with counterparts to develop hypotheses, set up and instrument tests, measure results, and present findings and recommendations to the leadership team
Build and help the company execute a robust, defensible testing framework and strategy and adopt a consistent set of metrics for comparison
Own daily, weekly, monthly reporting and construct dashboards and visualizations, as needed, to help understand trends, themes, and relationships in the data
Support the team with ad-hoc customer surveys and interviews to gather qualitative insights about our brand, marketing, and product
Develop and implement strong data organization and hygiene practices — and educate the business on adoption and maintenance
Candidate Qualifications
3+ years of business and/or analytics experience in consumer technology companies or management consulting firms
Strong understanding and application of statistics to solve business problems and hypotheses
Expertise in SQL and Excel with a track record of turning raw data into actionable insights
Ability to effectively communicate with and interpret data for a business audience
Passion for data and the stories it can tell
Inquisitiveness with a strong eagerness to learn new things
Experience using business intelligence tools like Tableau or Looker and product analytics tools like Amplitude, a plus
Familiarity with languages like Python or R, a plus
