JOB DESCRIPTION
Empower is looking for its first in-house creative video producer. This individual will be responsible for shooting and editing digital video for Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, and YouTube to support acquisition, education, entertainment, and retention. Our ideal candidate has strong conceptual abilities with stellar execution chops — That means someone who can adeptly shoot with an iPhone or DSLR, edit, and package short-form and long-form campaignable digital video that connects with our target audience.
We're looking for passionate digital storytellers who are fearless in their creativity; collaborative; and efficient and thoughtful about how they budget and manage their production timelines.
This role reports to the Chief Marketing Officer.
Key Responsibilities
Shoot and edit video, including live-action, according to the objectives, budgets, and parameters outlined in creative briefs
Work weekly with the marketers to come up with fresh video concepts that convert, engage, and educate, ranging from social media ads to explainers to weekly episodic franchises (and more!)
Write video scripts or collaborate with marketers on scripting, copywriting, and proofing
Manage video budget, negotiate for the best deals, and search for affordable, scrappy ways to achieve the vision and objective of each project
Create and manage production timelines using digital tools and proactively report progress and risk
Build strong partnerships with the marketers by communicating throughout the production process and guiding them toward engaging and cost-effective video content
Partner with Brand Marketing Director on television creative development with our agency
Advise the Chief Marketing Officer and Brand Designer on how to develop and execute a distinct style of digital video for the brand
Stay ahead of new video techniques, formats, and styles to give Empower an edge in the market
Candidate Qualifications
2+ years of work experience in creative concepting, shooting, and editing digital video for social media and web campaigns targeted at millennial audiences (video portfolio required and must include examples produced for Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, YouTube)
Experience shooting video with iPhone (DSLR preferred but not required)
Passion for digital storytelling, with a track record of taking smart risks
Social media savvy, with a deep understanding of Instagram, Tiktok, Snapchat, YouTube
Exceptional time and project management skills
Strong written and verbal communication (comfort appearing on camera, a plus)
Ability to make sound decisions and solve problems resourcefully
Obsessive attention to detail
Based in the US (remote is fine)
