Summary
Department Manager for Feature Film
Epipheo is an animation studio with a long history in advertising, but we are working on our first feature film. We’ve worked hard to create a balanced, healthy, and sustainable work culture for our advertising team, and we need qualified Department Managers to help build this into our film division.
The Department Manager manages the daily activities of the Department they are over. We are currently hiring for both Edit Department Manager and Story Department Manager.
Responsibilities
Daily communication with the Production Manager on the status of the Department.
Coordinate the workflow for all supervisors and artists in the Department.
Keep accurate daily output information of the Department, and enforce deadlines.
Alert the Production Manager of potential problems and suggest appropriate solutions.
Update key production personnel on the status of all areas of production.
Work with Department Head to maintain and distribute weekly production schedule. Then provide accurate information to upper management and production staff.
Run weekly department meetings.
Oversee preparation of production materials for shipping to vendor.
Manage schedule to ensure production meets strict deadlines. Some of these duties include:
Troubleshoot a problem.
Coordinate and supervise vendor studios.
Coordinate and supervise freelance production staff.
Assist in the scheduling of key production personnel.
Schedule production meetings as necessary.
Additional Responsibilities:
Assist with ancillary projects; assist Production Manager with special projects.
Act as primary liaison with vendor studio(s).
Facilitate timely communication between the internal team and outside studio regarding production issues, questions, and materials.
Draft and coordinate all new hire paperwork for freelancers.
Update Human Resources monthly on all freelance activity.
Review and approve weekly time sheets and invoices.
Gather and submit new hire information to Human Resources.
Coordinate Facilities and IS&T requests.
Basic qualifications
2 – 3 years of animation production experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work well under pressure.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Possess complete knowledge of the animation production process.
Knowledge of Toonboom, Google Suit, and Frame.io.
Knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator is a plus.

W2 Full Time Remote Position
