Product Owner (Finance/Tech)

About the Job:

As a Product Owner you hold a key position in driving the delivery of tools and products for our flagship site and our other related finance and tech content websites. You will be responsible for the delivery cycle of a development team and working closely with our internal teams and CPO. Your expertise and talent to incorporate users’ feedback into deliverables will be crucial in development of our flagship products.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, and stakeholders, to define the product roadmap and strategy for data-related projects.

  • Lead the development team by providing clear direction, setting priorities, and ensuring timely delivery of feature's.

  • Gather and analyse user feedback, market trends, and data insights to make informed decisions about feature enhancements and update's

  • Translate high-level concepts and business goals into actionable tasks for the development team, ensuring alignment with the overall product vision.

  • Act as the bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, effectively communicating project status, challenges, and opportunities.

  • Continuously monitor and assess the competitive landscape, staying up-to-date with industry trends and incorporating best practices into our products.

  • Ensure the quality and performance of data-driven features through rigorous testing and validation processes.

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability within the development team, driving continuous improvement.

  • Ideation, implementation, and tracking of split tests to improve conversion across different verticals

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role, with a focus on data-driven projects.

  • Analytical mindset, capable of translating data insights into actionable product enhancements.

  • Understanding of SEO principles and experience in on-page optimisation.

  • Experience in user-centred design and incorporating user feedback into product development.

  • Basic knowledge in standard web development technologies, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL.

  • Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions and solve problems effectively.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience in the news or media industry is a plus but not mandatory.

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Data Science, Business, or a related discipline is a plus but not mandatory.
