Marketing Operations Manager

About the role

The Marketing Operations Manager will play an integral role in supporting our clients’ MarTech stacks and managing content development for emails, banners, and CMS websites.

Responsibilities center on implementing data collection and management in marketing automation platforms and translating communication strategies and functional requirements into operational email campaigns. Reporting will be critical, and they should regularly focus on improving deliverability and refining our best practices. The Digital Marketing Operations Manager must have a thorough understanding of the role marketing automation plays in marketing communications and possess the ability and desire to stay up to date with and apply the latest thinking in strategy and technology.

What you'll do

  • Provide cross-functional consultation on marketing automation strategy and outreach tactics

  • Monitor email campaigns, provide technical direction on achieving deliverability, open rate and overall campaign metric goals

  • Manage the technical execution of email marketing campaigns on behalf of clients

  • Identify opportunities to optimize our campaigns to increase customer acquisition and retention

  • Assess, learn, utilize and integrate new email marketing platforms

  • Translate communication strategy and creative design into tactical execution

  • Report marketing research and stay ahead of email marketing strategies

  • Work closely with the CRM data team to ensure metrics are integrated and available in a larger CRM technical ecosystem

  • Manage, train and oversee the work of the Digital Marketing Operations Developers and freelancers

  • Develop and code HTML emails, HTML5 banner ads, and author pages in CMS tools (Adobe Experience Manger, Wordpress) as needed

About you

  • Bachelor’s Degree or relative experience

  • 5+ years of experience with marketing automation and campaign management software, preferably Marketo, VeevaCRM and/or Salesforce Marketing Cloud

    • Experience implementing new instances of MarTech software a plus

  • 2-3 years of B2B and B2C direct marketing experience

  • Knowledge of email-friendly HTML with experience in coding for a multitude of email systems (MS Outlook, Gmail, etc.)

  • Understanding of the data needed to support the execution of communication strategies

  • Deep understanding of marketing operations, technology, industry best practices and strategic campaign management
