🚀 About the Role

We’re hiring a Director of Product Design to lead a small, fast-moving design team and define how marketers work with AI.

This is a player-coach role for someone who has built and grown high-performing design teams without losing their obsession with craft — from typography to interaction rhythm to information hierarchy. You’ll lead from the front, prototyping, vibe coding, and shipping alongside the team.

📋 What You Will Do at Jasper

  • Own and guide Jasper’s design strategy, setting the vision for how enterprise marketing teams work with AI

  • Maintain the highest standards of visual and interaction design across the product, ensuring polish and consistency for enterprise customers

  • Lead a small, high-velocity design team as a player-coach — coaching while staying hands-on with prototyping and vibe coding using tools like Cursor and Claude Code

  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering leaders to evolve how Jasper builds software with AI

  • Accelerate and define AI-first design workflows and design-to-front-end pipelines

  • Extend Jasper’s design system and improve coding agents’ ability to use the right components and patterns

  • Partner with leadership to define problems worth solving and shape roadmaps that deliver customer outcomes

  • Build a high-trust, inclusive, feedback-driven design culture that values autonomy, learning, and accountability

  • Establish and run craft rituals (design critiques, reviews) to elevate quality

  • Coach and support designers in career growth, fostering both craft and leadership development

  • Play a key role in hiring, onboarding, and scaling the design organization

✅ What You Will Bring

  • 8+ years of product design experience with a portfolio demonstrating exceptional visual craft and end-to-end product thinking

  • 4+ years leading and managing design teams in high-growth SaaS or product-led environments

  • A genuine player-coach mindset: able to lead and uplevel a team while staying hands-on

  • Demonstrated experience building AI-first design workflows and pipelines, with fluency in AI-native tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, v0) and real shipped work

  • Proven ability to build and govern coherent design systems with enterprise-level polish

  • Outstanding UI and visual design judgment (typography, color, layout, spacing, hierarchy)

  • Working knowledge of front-end code (HTML, CSS, React/JSX) and fluency with Figma

  • Experience designing for AI-native or AI-augmented products, with understanding of unique UX challenges (non-deterministic outputs, prompt interfaces, copilot patterns, trust/transparency)

  • Background in B2B or enterprise SaaS; AI-native or marketing-adjacent product experience a plus

  • Pragmatic mindset balancing design ideals with business reality and engineering constraints

  • Excellent communication skills, able to articulate design rationale and influence across stakeholders

💰 Compensation Range

  • Base salary: $224,000 – $280,000

  • Compensation may vary based on experience, skills, and certifications
