We're looking for a Vice President, UX, to lead and shape a talented team of designers, researchers, and scale our team through our next phase of growth and beyond. We have a unique market window, so bring your creativity, experience, and sense of urgency to drive UX Strategy, key initiatives, and the team forward. This role reports directly to the CPO and works closely with the Product, Product Marketing, and Growth leadership teams. You'll partner with product and engineering leadership, engineers, designers, product managers, and marketing leaders to plan, drive, and execute. You'll have direct access to our seasoned executive leadership team and support from our board and investors. There are no egos, just a passionate team working together to solve customer problems, deliver a fantastic experience, and build a great business.

The UX organization is responsible for driving a transcendent, connected user experience for JumpCloud across our Web, Mobile, and Desktop experiences, across multiple products and services. You'll set a UX strategy in line with our business goals, and you'll motivate the team to execute and deliver best-in-class design. You'll also build a design center of excellence that finds the right balance of in-house talent and agency support to scale up or down based on design needs for the business.

You will touch millions of end-users in organizations and hundreds of thousands of IT admins. Your work will be on every device that an organization uses. So, our UX must be efficient, easy-to-understand, elegant, and impactful.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define User Experience (UX) vision, multi-year experience strategy, and approach for JumpCloud users to drive user and business value

  • Serve as the overall cross-UX lead for JumpCloud by representing and advocating for the user and the UX discipline, demonstrating and measuring the impact of UX, representing UX for annual planning, strategy, and more.

  • Reimagine UX for JumpCloud across the properties for the next business and customer growth level. 

  • Grow and evolve the research practice, influence our roadmap, and lead the team from insight to action. You will establish User research direction for JumpCloud, empower researchers, and deliver research-driven impacts across product portfolios.

  • Lead the 20+ person UX design and research team (and growing quickly) to execute against strategy, integrate new learnings, and manage competing design needs.

  • Partner with marketing to ensure consistent brand experience across all customer interactions.

  • Lead, develop, inspire, and grow a diverse global design team, including managers.

Skills & qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience leading and managing teams of designers and researchers.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver SaaS products with elegant interactions and visual design.

  • Strong ability to inspire all levels of your team.

  • Ability to listen, articulate positions, and advocate for users and designs. And, challenge assumptions respectfully and give and receive feedback with grace.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in and lead UX in an Agile environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to scale UX function. Deep UX toolkit to tailor approach and methodology appropriate for the context.

  • Creative problem solving ability to identify obstacles and viable solutions.

  • Outcome-orientation. Ability to articulate the desired outcome and work collaboratively to create a path to achieve it.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, facilitation, and presentation skills, at all levels of the organization and with customers.

  • Experience working in technical environments, and influencing across different functions and levels.

  • Knowledge that enables ideation and development of creative and innovative solutions.

  • Degree in HCI (Human Computer Interaction) , Visual Design, or related field of study (or work experience in lieu of degree).

Additional experience preferred but not required:

  • Direct experience in Product Led Growth as it relates to UX marketing, product management, and/or engineering.

  • Experience with IT-related technologies such as directory services, LDAP, RADIUS, SAML, MultiFactor Authentication, MDM, or similarly complex technologies.

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate annual compensation range for this role is $250,000-$350,000, including base salary and any related bonuses or commissions.  JumpCloud provides comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, short and long term disability, life insurance and a 401k savings plan.  We have an unlimited vacation policy. 

Where you’ll be working/Location:

JumpCloud is committed to being Remote First, meaning that you are able to work remotely within the country noted in this Job Description. For US Roles: All roles posted in United States locations do require that you be located within one of the 50 U.S. States.  Our Headquarters is in the Denver/Boulder, CO area but as a remote company, you are able to work remotely anywhere in the U.S.  If you would like to spend time in our offices in the Denver/Boulder area, you are welcome to do that as well.
