Graphic Designer (U.S. Only)

The Role

Kasa is seeking a graphic designer to bring the brand’s visual identity to life. You are right for this role if you are someone who lives and breathes visual storytelling and is able to create attractive, effective and impactful assets for print, digital, email, social and video for both B2B and B2C audiences. The role is remote (U.S.-based) on our marketing team and will report to the Head of Brand.

About the Team

Kasa’s marketing team is split into two areas—performance and brand. This role is on the brand side which is primarily focused on developing awareness of, and affinity for, Kasa’s brand. The rest of the marketing team will be frequent collaborators with the graphic designer, working with them to produce assets that differentiate us from the competition and break through to our desired audiences. The graphic designer will also collaborate frequently with the digital design team to align on visual strategy and brand guidelines, and with the real estate team to produce materials to help engage our property partners.

Day in the life of a Kasa Graphic Designer

There’s no single typical day at a young and growing company like ours, but for the graphic designer the day would include time set aside for deep, focused work (which is a critical part of the job) as well as time that would be devoted to collaboration with the digital design team and stakeholders around the company. This design work could be anything from developing and deploying a major advertising campaign to cleaning up an investor deck to make sure it is putting Kasa’s best foot forward. We believe that designers benefit from frequent conversations and collaboration with other designers, so there would be many opportunities to connect with the digital design team to discuss work in progress. The graphic designer and the Head of Brand will also stay in frequent contact with the Head of Brand seeking to triage any issues that come up and help focus the work on achieving business and brand goals.

And of course, there are the Slack groups, the many opportunities for professional development and the social opportunities that Kasa, as a remote company, provides for its employees. Our fellow Kasamigos are all over the world, and talking to them (or Slacking with them) and getting to know them can be rewarding in and of itself.

Experience

  • 5+ years of relevant design experience on B2B and B2C products - creating pixel-perfect graphics, infographics, advertising assets, presentations, templates, etc.

  • Mastery of all print and digital (email, social, web, video/animation) channels and platforms and of comprehensive marketing campaigns

  • Expertise with the details of the end-to-end design process—from concepting to following brand guidelines to preparing files for production

  • Strong knowledge of typography, color, composition, data visualization, diagramming, color proofing, and photo shoot production

  • Competency in Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects

  • Comfortable presenting creative ideas in cogent and comprehensible ways, to a variety of business stakeholders

  • Recruiting and managing creative freelancers as needed

  • The ability to clearly communicate in visual language to a mass consumer audience

  • The ability to work independently and move projects forward on your own without significant project management support
