What We Do
Laika combines simple software with expert guidance to help SaaS companies manage security compliance, security audits, and enterprise procurement security diligence. Laika helps companies adopt stage-appropriate compliance practices that enterprises can trust and reduce the time and costs of security audits by 50% or more.
We are a rapidly expanding team based in New York. We were founded in May 2019 and raised our Series C funding in November 2022. Our top investors include: J.P. Morgan, PayPal Ventures, Fin Capital, Centana, and Bain Capital. We're growing customers and revenue dramatically and we’re poised for continued break-out growth in 2023 and beyond.
About the Role
We are hiring for a Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for owning our payroll process in full.
This role will be reporting directly to the Controller.
What You'll Do
Maintain an up-to-date employee census and organizational chart with up-to-date details showing key employee information including but not limited to: current salary, incentive plan eligibility, etc.
Run payroll bimonthly and providing supplementary info to any relevant stakeholders
Provide month end payroll entry with details regarding base salaries, fringe benefits, and variable compensation to corporate accounting function to ensure proper approval and coding within the general ledger
Serve as the primary administrator for Rippling (HRIS) to maintain accurate and compliant employee records, run reports, and manage overall health of the platform
Preparing and reviewing total compensation and benefits packages for new employees
Sourcing and administering health benefits, 401k program, and other programs related to total compensation
Work with applicable department leaders and executive management to establish process ensuring approvals, and other related steps required when there is a change in employee status (new role, change in compensation, etc.)
Coordinate with department leaders to ensure variable incentive plan documents are current and accurate

Assist with preparation of calculations to determine achievement of variable compensation targets for various departments across the organization
Skillsets/ Requirements
Experience with an HRIS system or PEO
6-7 years in a payroll position.
2+ years in payroll management
Smart, diligent, with a keen eye for detail!
Bonus Points
Payroll management experience in a fast-paced startup environment.
Experience working with Rippling
Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $125,000 which will commensurate with experience
