Sales Development Rep (SDR) - No Prospecting, Only Discovery Calls

We believe that podcasting is one of the best ways for people to get their message out there to the people who want to hear it most, and we strive to help these people to take their message far and wide. 

We do this both by helping our customers get placed for interviews on some of the world’s top shows, as well as helping them to strategize, create and launch their own podcasts so they can build even more authority in front of their desired audiences. 

If you’re a podcast fan already, this would be an amazing fit for you, since you’d be working directly within the podcasting industry, and maybe even communicating with some of your favorite podcasts and hosts on a daily basis. If you’re not yet a podcasting fan, then this is an amazing opportunity to get started in a rapidly growing industry, that’s only getting bigger. 

As a company, we are 100% remote and have been since we started 8 years ago. We have a large team that is distributed all over the world - we care much more about your effort and enthusiasm than we do about where you live. We also believe in providing the best training for our team and providing them with all the tools they need to succeed. 

Our full-time team members receive two weeks of vacation per year (paid) and we also have a company-wide vacation from right before Christmas until right after New Years, every year. 

About the Job -

This is not your typical SDR job, mostly because you won’t have to spend any time prospecting for new leads. My team is great at generating leads and appointments - so much so that our current sales team is overwhelmed and is taking too many discovery calls.

In this role, all of oyur discovery calls will be booked for you by our sales support agent. They’ll be booked directly into your company calendar, and all you need to do is show up on zoom, and walk customers through our services, and determine if they're a good fit to send to our sales team.

If they are a good fit (meaning they have the budget and are ready to get started in the near future) then you can help them set up a time to talk with someone from the sales team. If they’re a good fit but not ready right now, you can continue to follow up with them over time with the help of our sales support staff.

And of course if they aren’t a good fit, you can just disqualify them out of our sales pipeline.

While this role is not directly a sales role, for the right motivated person, it can absolutely be the first step in a fast progressing career path to transition into higher sales roles actually selling our services too.

Typical Job Tasks -

  • Zoom calls with prospects

  • Email follow ups

  • Gathering info and data to send to prospects after calls

  • Sending marketing materials to prospects after calls

  • Participating in weekly sales meetings

  • Great written and spoken English

  • An understanding of basic sales concepts (you don’t need to have been selling directly to be considered)

What growth opportunities exist within the company?
We have some performance-based bonuses prepared for this role, and we are always looking for new salespeople too - promoting someone from this position eventually to a full-time salesperson would be an ideal scenario as you'd already be familiar with our services.
Are you serious that as an SDR I won't have to prospect for leads?
Seriously! We are great at generating leads and setting sales appointments - we set too many in fact! We'll set up all your calls for you, you'll just need to qualify leads and determine if they are a fit to forward on to our sales team.
Are there set hours I need to be working during the day?
Most of our customers are in the US, and since your job will be mostly calls, it will be expected for you to be available for most of the US business day Monday - Friday. We never require anyone to work weekends
