Finance Manager

Intro

The M^0 Ecosystem Finance team is seeking a Finance Manager who will play a fundamental role in shaping the future of the M^0 ecosystem.

In this role, you will play a critical part in managing crypto-specific accounting processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting, overseeing month-end and year-end close processes, and supporting our commitment to compliance and continuous improvement. This role requires strong analytical abilities, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and excellent organizational skills to handle multiple priorities and deadlines effectively. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and proactive professional who thrives in a high-growth environment and values accuracy and reliability.

Reporting to our Head of Finance, you'll be part of a collaborative and supportive environment that encourages creativity and provides the resources to excel. Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting:

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with different GAAPs and IFRS.

• Conduct detailed variance analysis to monitor performance against budgets and forecasts, and provide insights into business trends and potential financial risks, for each ecosystem entity.

• Execute and analyze variance reports, providing insights and recommendations to enhance financial transparency in crypto holdings, token transactions, and digital asset valuations.

• Maintain accurate records of crypto transactions, valuations, and custody arrangements, ensuring adherence to the latest accounting standards specific to digital assets.

Accounting Operations:

• Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including accounts and crypto transaction reconciliations, fair value assessments, and ensuring all necessary adjustments are completed accurately and on time.

• Oversee and support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance to ensure financial data integrity and accuracy.

• Proactively identify and collaborate with team members to implement improvements to streamline accounting processes/workflows, enhance process efficiency, and maintain high standards of accuracy.

Audit and Compliance:

• Coordinate with internal and external auditors to provide required information and assist in audit processes.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements, keeping up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations that may impact financial reporting.

• Stay updated on changes in crypto-related accounting regulations and ensure compliance with evolving industry standards, such as the treatment of stablecoins, staking income, or decentralized finance (DeFi) transactions.

• Implement and monitor effective internal controls specific to the crypto industry, safeguarding against risks associated with digital assets.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

• Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information sharing while developing best-in-class practices.

• Support budgeting and forecasting activities, providing input and analysis as needed to address management and investors requirements.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or equivalent professional certification would be a plus (but not required).

Experience: Minimum of 3-4 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial reporting roles, preferably in Crypto, Fintech or Asset/Fund Management.

Technical Skills: Proficiency with different ERP accounting software (e.g. Workday), and familiarity with crypto-focused accounting tools (e.g. Cryptio). Advanced Excel skills and experience with data analytics tools are highly desirable.
