Video Editor (Spain-Remote)

Your mission is to create, adapt, and develop impactful visual content for our marketing team through high-quality, brand-aligned editing and smart creative input, ensuring that the brand’s voice and visual identity lead the way.

In this position, you will be able to have a wonderful contribution and impact in different areas:

As Video Editor

  • Edit and deliver high-quality, short-form engaging videos (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts).

  • Elevate short-form videos with creative touches to stand out in a crowded social media landscape.

  • Support senior editors in long-form content production for YouTube, including translation, repurposing, and adaptation.

  • Ensure brand consistency in tone, storytelling, and visual style across all edits.

  • Contribute ideas for new video formats and creative storytelling techniques for each platform.

  • Apply knowledge of YouTube strategy (audience retention, pacing, thumbnails, watch-time optimization) to help improve video performance.

  • Assist with subtitling, cross-language adaptations, and visual localization when needed.

As Team Member

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Content and Strategy) to ensure timely and aligned content delivery.

  • Provide technical support to the brand ambassadors to maintain top-level quality in their videos.

  • Contribute to a knowledge-sharing culture that promotes learning and growth.

Long story short: What will your first days in Metricool look like?

  • First month:
    You’ll focus on getting familiar with the workflows, tools, and brand style. You’ll start editing short-form content with guidance, and collaborate closely with the content and video team.

  • First quarter:
    You’ll begin managing a steady stream of short-form edits independently and support long-form video adaptations. You’ll start pitching small creative ideas and helping evolve the visual storytelling of our short-form strategy.

  • To the moon:
    You’ll become a core part of our video team — confidently handling both short-form and long-form edits, balancing content priorities, and contributing to the creative direction of our social video strategy across markets.

Job requirements. You’ll be successful on your mission if you meet the following: 

  • Experience:

    • At least 2 years of proven experience editing both short-form and long-form content, especially for social media platforms, particularly YouTube (but also TikTok and Instagram).

    • Previous work editing content for multilingual platforms or international audiences.

  • Education: Degree in Audiovisual Communications, Graphic Design, Motion Graphics, media or a related field is highly valued.

  • Languages:

    • Fluent in Spanish with an advanced level of English (spoken and written).

    • French or German language skills are a strong plus, especially for localization, subtitling, and adapting long-form content for wider audiences.

  • Hard skills

    • Technical proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro.

    • Basic motion graphics in After Effects or similar software (e.g., for lower-thirds, titles, or simple animations).

    • Strong understanding of storytelling, pacing, and what drives retention especially on YouTube.

  • Soft skills

    • Attention to detail to maintain brand consistency across formats, and quality control.

    • Strong organizational and time management skills.

    • Creative thinking and problem-solving mindset.

    • Excellent communication and collaborative attitude.

    • Proactive and resourceful.

  • Based in Spain.

What are the steps of the hiring process?

  • First interview (30 minutes) with Horten, HR Lead, or Juli, Junior Talent Acquisition Specialist, to know each other, know more about the company and our culture, the position and the team, and if your background and aspirations fit the profile.

  • Second interview (1 hour) with Ana, our Content Manager, and Isabel, our Youtube Team Lead, to verify the fit with the profile and the team.

  • Team meeting with our current video editors – a chance to meet the people you’d be working closely with and get a feel for the team dynamic.

  • Final language test (if applicable) to evaluate your proficiency in French or German.
