We’re looking for a hyper-organized, proactive communicator with impeccable judgment Partnerships & Events Manager to join our team and make a big impact. 

As our Partnerships & Events Manager, your mission will be to research new partnership opportunities, establish and grow existing relationships, negotiate and execute agreements and measure partnership results. You should be excited about negotiating partnerships and sponsorships that boost awareness and revenue, owning a significant part of a marketing strategy and budget, interfacing with executives internally and externally, and representing Muck Rack at industry events traveling the country while working for a fully distributed team. You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have experience securing and negotiating contracts for partnerships. 

What you’ll do:

  • Research and track external industry events, compiling recommendations for ensuring MR has a presence where there are business opportunities, and liaising between teams (internal & external) as needed to execute Muck Rack presence

  • Evaluate partnerships and opportunities to work with other orgs to generate revenue and awareness.

  • Field new opportunities, project managing existing deliverables, managing relationships with new & existing accounts

  • Manage Muck Rack’s participation at events, often alongside senior leaders

  • Attend some sponsored events, including setting up, attending to, and tearing down brand setup/booth

  • Manage Muck Rack’s university partnership program, Muck Rack for Educators, bringing on new educators and maintaining relationships with existing members

  • Number and quality of newly formed partnerships/number of negotiated contracts

  • Leads generated

  • Partnership renewals and growth among existing partners

  • Internal stakeholders are prepared to participate in events and meetings

If the details below describe you, you could be a great fit for this role:

  • 5 years of professional experience, with 1-2 years of partnerships experience and at least one year of contract negotiation experience

  • One year of event/field experience and SaaS, Sales, and PR experience is a plus

  • Proficiency in contract negotiation for partnerships and sponsorships

  • Strong written/verbal communications skills

  • Experience working with executives

  • Project management and the ability to be highly responsive and meet deadlines

  • Confidence and conviction and the ability to make strategic decisions and recommendations

  • Strong research skills with a metrics mindset

  • Good presentation skills

  • Professionally persistent

Interview Overview

  • 30 min interview with a member of our Talent Team

  • A 1-hour zoom interview with the hiring manager

  • Take-home assignment (2 hours max)

  • A final interview with several team members

Salary

In the US, the starting salary for this role is between $90,000 and $120,000, depending on skills and experience. We take a geo-neutral approach to compensation within the US, meaning that we pay based on job function and level, not location. For all other countries, we have competitive pay bands based on market standards.

Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including experience level, skill set, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall healthily throughout the range based on these factors. We recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description as posted. If that ends up being the case, the updated salary range will be communicated to you as a candidate.
