Senior Product Designer
Redefine the future of customer experiences. One conversation at a time.
At Nextiva, we're reimagining how businesses connect, bringing together customer experience and team collaboration on a single, conversation centric platform. Powered by AI, driven by human innovation.
Our culture is forward thinking, customer obsessed and built on the belief that meaningful connections drive better business outcomes. Whether it's through our signature Amazing Service®, the technology we create, or the experiences we cultivate, connection is at the core of who we are.
Location: While this role is open to remote candidates across the United States, team members located within 40 miles of Nextiva's Scottsdale headquarters are expected to work onsite four days per week to support collaboration, speed, and execution.
At Nextiva, we're building the future of customer experience through thoughtful, AI-native product design. As a Senior Product Designer, you'll shape experiences across our Unified Customer Experience platform, partnering closely with Product and Engineering to solve complex customer problems through modern design, rapid prototyping, and intelligent AI-assisted workflows. This is more than a traditional design role. You'll help define product direction, challenge assumptions, and turn ideas into production-ready experiences across desktop and mobile.
What You'll Do
- Lead end-to-end product design from discovery through delivery across desktop, mobile, and responsive experiences.
- Partner with Product Managers and Engineers as a strategic thought partner, challenging assumptions and helping define the best solution instead of simply executing requirements.
- Engage directly with customers to understand their needs, gather feedback, and translate insights into product decisions and improved experiences.
- Create user flows, customer journeys, wireframes, interactive prototypes, high-fidelity designs, and production-ready experiences across desktop and mobile.
- Design across multiple product domains, including onboarding, e-commerce, AI-powered product capabilities, administration, and customer conversations.
- Build functional, high-fidelity prototypes using AI-assisted development workflows to validate ideas with customers and stakeholders quickly.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering by reviewing AI-generated frontend implementations and refining production code.
- Drive consistency across products by evolving and contributing to Nextiva's design system, reusable components (A2UI), and design standards.
- Use customer research, analytics, experimentation, and usability testing to continuously improve product experiences and business outcomes.
- Communicate design thinking clearly and confidently, presenting concepts and explaining the rationale, tradeoffs, and customer insights behind design decisions.
- Leverage AI-powered design, research, and development tools responsibly to improve speed, quality, creativity, and execution.
About You
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience designing digital products, preferably within SaaS or enterprise software environments.
- Strong, current portfolio demonstrating exceptional product thinking, interaction design, visual design, accessibility, systems thinking, and measurable customer impact.
- Proven experience leading complex product initiatives from discovery through implementation.
- Demonstrated ability to think critically, solve ambiguous problems independently, and influence product direction rather than simply executing requirements.
- Experience designing production-ready experiences across desktop, mobile, and responsive environments.
- Experience building, maintaining, and evolving scalable design systems, reusable components, and component libraries.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design, information architecture, usability testing, experimentation, and data-informed design.
- Experience partnering closely with software engineers throughout implementation and delivery.
- Demonstrated proficiency using modern AI-powered design and development tools to accelerate design, prototyping, documentation, and frontend implementation.
- Working knowledge of modern design-to-code workflows, including AI-generated frontend development, Git-based collaboration, and component-based architecture.
- Technical fluency with HTML, CSS, modern frontend frameworks, and design systems sufficient to evaluate and refine AI-generated implementations.
- Experience building interactive prototypes that closely resemble production experiences and using them to gather feedback and validate solutions.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate design decisions and collaborate effectively with customers, Product, Engineering, and other stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using AI-assisted development environments such as Cursor, Claude Code, ChatGPT, or similar AI-native workflows.
- Experience designing AI-powered product experiences, including conversational interfaces, copilots, intelligent assistants, or embedded AI workflows within SaaS applications.
