Nutrient is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Controller to build and manage the company’s accounting team and workflows, ensuring the integrity of our financial figures and reporting. The Controller will be responsible for leading all aspects of accounting, managing the monthly close process, overseeing compliance with tax and statutory requirements in all geographies in which we operate, and providing critical financial insights to support the company’s growth.

What you will do...
Accounting Operations:
Build and manage the accounting team
Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely completion and accuracy.
Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
Establish and maintain internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
Design and implement scalable accounting workflows across an International team and company
Compliance & Governance:
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax laws, and regulations across the various regions where we operate.
Lead successful audits and tax filings, coordinating with external auditors and tax advisors, when applicable
Assist with reporting requirements, including monthly and quarterly financial updates, board presentations, and debt reporting.
Financial Systems & Processes:
Drive continuous improvement in the company’s engagement with, and its ability to leverage, its financial systems, processes, and tools to support continued scalability and improved efficiency.
Lead the integration and utilization of new software tools or platforms, working closely with IT and operations teams to ensure smooth implementation.
Participate in the due diligence process and lead the integration of any potential acquisitions
Team Leadership:
Manage, mentor, and foster the growth of the accounting team.
Provide training, guidance, and performance feedback to accounting team members to develop their skills and ensure high-quality financial outputs.
Who You Are…
Experience:
Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
Minimum 3 to 5 years experience as a Controller, with an International private equity-backed or high-growth software/technology company.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, international accounting standards, and regulatory compliance, with experience in global accounting operations.
Extensive experience driving financial audit processes across multiple jurisdictions
Education & Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required
4 Years of Big Four Accounting is preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
Proven expertise in financial reporting, accounting processes, and internal controls.
Experience with multi-currency financial reporting and managing global financial operations and teams.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proficient in accounting software (NetSuite and QuickBooks in particular), Excel, and financial modeling tools.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a diverse International team remotely.
Additional Requirements:
Experience with private equity-backed companies is highly desirable.
Comfort working with international teams and understanding of the complexities of global accounting operations.
Ability to travel occasionally (domestic and international) as needed.
