Senior Director, HR Business Partner (US Only)

The Senior Director, HRBP  will develop strategic partnerships with the Go-To-Market (GTM) organization,  and determine HR priorities consistent with business objectives. This is a highly visible role in providing the vision, direction, strategy, tactics, and operational excellence to support our employees at OpenGov. You will counsel all levels from entry level to senior leaders on all HR matters, help them analyze problems and create solutions in a complex, changing environment. Your HR leadership will impact employee engagement, employee culture, performance, and critical talent planning to help grow the business and maintain a competitive advantage in the marketplace.

Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic partnership and guidance to assigned organization: help them achieve/exceed business results, strengthen team performance, culture, and retention while mitigating legal exposure 

• Develop and implement HR programs, processes and initiatives, such as performance management, compensation, employee development, succession, DEI

• Build performance management capabilities by coaching leaders to effectively address performance issues and deliver effective feedback to foster employee success

• Provide strategic support through organizational planning and re-org/change processes

• Drive training at the company level: develop and deliver content across various mediums (slack, zoom, email) and create training paths for your client groups

• Implement tools and processes to support your business units: training, career ladders, competencies, development plans, PIPs, onboarding, etc. 

• Analyze trends and metrics to identify opportunities, develop people strategy, programs, and policies

• Lead change management efforts and special projects to foster the effective adoption of evolving organization strategies, processes, and programs (including regular acquisition and integration work)

• Develop events, training, materials etc to support a successful remote culture 

• Be an advocate and help champion OpenGov’s culture and values 

 

Requirements and Preferred Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field 

• 10+ years of experience within Human Resources with increasing levels of responsibility and leadership required

• Public company or IPO experience preferred, scaling experience required

• Ability to partner with and advise senior leaders, up to and including C-level

• Exceptional judgement and communication skills, ability to push back and say “no”

• Strong sense of urgency and demonstrated ability to deliver results with a wide degree of judgment, creativity, and latitude expected

• Experience with HR operational practices, including benefits, employee relations, data management, leave management, on/off-boarding, and employment law (COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, FLSA, etc.)

• Excellent priority setting and project/time management skills with the flexibility and adaptability to respond to shifting business needs

• High professional standards and a strong customer experience mentality with an energetic, positive attitude can quickly build partnerships, relationships, and trust

• System savvy: HRIS, engagement survey tools, performance management

• Proficiency in Mac and Google applications, such as sheets, slides, and docs preferred
