What you’ll do:

As part of the Osmosis Product Team, the Senior Product Designer will have a huge impact on the products we build, owning product UX and UI design, and co-owning user research with Product Managers. This is a core role at a growing startup, and will require flexibility and self accountability.

In the first 90 days you will:

  • Complete New and Iterative Design work: Likely 1-2 mid-to-larger projects or 3-5 small projects

  • Work with Internal Stakeholders: For relevant projects, work with product managers to collect design requirements and input from internal stakeholders.  Report on your work across the company.

  • Partner with Engineering: Review work implemented by engineers, proactively unblock newly uncovered design needs, address feedback, and attend sprint meetings.

  • Advocate for the user and gain product familiarity: Conduct 3 or more user tests, work closely with product managers to grasp user and business needs for new work, test designs and prototypes with target customers.

  • Iterate on design standards:  Take ownership of and build on existing design standards with an eye toward consistency, usability, accessibility, and approachability.

What you bring:

  • You have 5+ years experience as a product designer or a similar role designing online products for desktop and mobile

  • You have embraced and applied user-centered design methodologies and are adept at user and usability testing.

  • You are passionate about building the absolute best experience for customers, and also pragmatic about adapting solutions to reduce engineering complexity.

  • You have stories to tell about complex end-to-end design projects you’ve led, showcasing ideation, wireframing, user research, prototyping and building with engineering.

  • You are an ace with an array of design tools, such as Sketch, Figma, Invision, etc.

  • You are intrinsically organized, using tools effectively to manage work and communicate project status.

How you work:

  • Mission and Value Aligned. Our organizational values strongly resonate with you. You are motivated to help us achieve our shared mission and vision!

  • Adaptable. You embrace the scrappy startup mentality. You are flexible and versatile with changes to projects, goals, and strategies. You are comfortable working in an entirely virtual environment.

  • Proactive. You seek out new ways to problem-solve both solo or with your team members. You work diligently to produce excellent results, even with limited time and resources.

  • Growth mindset-oriented. You are constantly learning and applying these learnings to your craft. You work through change and obstacles to reach resolutions and value the power of “not yet.”

  • Solutions Oriented. You see problems as opportunities to act. You love proposing solutions and lean towards problem-solving action.

  • Reliable. You get things done on time and if you drop the ball, you’re the first to pick it up. You hold yourself accountable and take ownership of mistakes.

  • Caring Communicator. You know the importance of clear, thoughtful communication in a fully distributed environment. You can navigate crucial conversations through mindfully listening to others and clearly expressing your needs.
