The role 👩‍💻

Location: While this position is posted in a specific location, all of Oyster’s positions are fully remote and you can work from home. Forever.  (preferred timezone UTC -5)

What you'll be working on:

Oyster is looking for a Senior Analyst to join our Finance Operations team. This role will be responsible for tracking, reporting and analysing several key metrics which allow us to continue to delight our customer base & guide our decisions on how to scale effectively. The ideal candidate will be data driven, and be able to work effortlessly across multiple teams to generate a deep understanding of process inefficiencies. 

The Senior Analyst will then work with the finance and product teams to drive scalable operational improvements. Oyster is a complex and high growth business so this role suits someone who would thrive in that environment. This role reports to the Senior Manager Finance Operations. 

What you'll do : 

  • Perform monthly reporting around OKR metrics for invoicing, payroll & payments processes

  • Perform tasks related to data collection & analysis of errors/issue, perform root causes analysis, work with corresponding Customer Support & Ops teams to gather customer feedback data & aggregate data in presentable way for sharing with larger org

  • Leverage data around customer feedback to identify & guide product and/or process improvements 

  • Improve upon existing reports & develop new financial reports to easily identify issues & track improvements

  • Work collaboratively with Customer Support, Product, Operations, Finance to understand issues & help drive process improvements both automated and manual

  • Contribute to the development of financial operations infrastructure and process automation, be a thought leader in how we scale the business 

  • Communicate with team members to drive projects forward & align key parties

What we're looking for 📜

  • 4+ years of relevant experience is preferred in accounting, finance, operations

  • Strong excel skills (pivots, sumifs, vlookup, index match)

  • Experience working in a startup or fast-paced environment

  • Ability to meet deadlines & juggle multiple priorities seamlessly

  • Self-starter with eagerness to develop and learn

  • Ability to thrive in a high-growth distributed environment. 

  • Strong communicator, ability to speak up with new ideas & improvements

  • Positive and proactive attitude, excited to roll up sleeves & build something

Nice to haves:

  • Proficient in Google Suite of products (Gmail, Google Doc, Google Sheets)

  • Experience with Looker or similar BI Analytics tool

  • Familiarity with Zendesk

  • A good sense of humor and willingness to assist others no matter how small the task

You'll also need...
