Senior Product Manager

Position Overview: 

The Senior Product Manager will oversee and coordinate the development of products within an assigned area of the Panopto product line to ensure they meet the delivery requirements of our roadmap. With an entrepreneurial mindset the  Senior Product Manager will focus on delivering products that meet our customer’s needs.  

About the role:

The Senior Product Manager will understand and lead analysis of our competitor offerings, customer needs and pain-points, and product metrics to determine the right set of features to drive customer value, success and retention. The Senior Product Manager will work closely with the leadership team to develop a strategic acquisition roadmap. The Senior Product Manager will:

• Develop a comprehensive product, vision and roadmap for Panopto in order to deliver on business goals

• Drive global product requirements definition, product planning and product design (including writing epics, user stories and user experience mocks) of new features and enhancements

• Work cross-functionally with the Product Development team to launch new features

• Plan and prioritize when and what the engineering teams will deliver on all related features, working on a day-to-day basis with cross-functional stakeholders as part of an Agile development team

• Conduct regular roadmap processes that drive top line revenue growth and ensure customer retention

• Champion the product offerings by evangelizing and clearly communicating product benefits to our users and internal stakeholders

• Own solutions with minimal support or involvement from senior members of the product team, able to work autonomously on simple features and iterations, understanding the need for support in solving complex problems

• Manage internal expectations for the team's projects, products, and features

• Contribute to tactical and strategic decision-making for the business area

• Collaborate with senior members of the product team to shape cross-department and cross-team solutions

• Go-to-market: Support sales and channel partners with prospective customers demos, training, tools, documentation and subject matter expertise to help close business.

About you:

You will possess excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with, as well as understand technical subjects, emerging technologies and their relevance to the marketplace.

• Ability to manage across highly cross-functional teams in an agile environment 

• Prior knowledge of video management systems is desired, but not required

• Certified Scrum Master or equivalent certification would be an added plus

• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills

• Passion for conceiving, creating and designing useful, innovative products

• Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field or equivalent. MBA is a plus

• 5+ years of experience in a product management or equivalent leadership roles

• Experience building SaaS offerings with a proven ability to drive product planning, development and launch 

• Experience identifying various business problems or product flaws and coming up with creative solutions

• Experience in User Experience design, Analytics or Business Intelligence tools

• You have experience collaborating cross-functionally to create a strategic acquisition roadmap

• You have worked in acquisitive businesses, supporting the integration of new products

Total Rewards:

In the spirit of pay transparency, Panopto is excited to share the salary range for this position which is $130,000- $140,000 USD per year. This salary range may include multiple levels. Your level is based on our assessment of your interview performance, skills, experience, and/or location. Salary is just one component of Panopto’s total compensation package for employees.
