3D Artist

We are seeking a talented and experienced 3D Artist to join our creative team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating captivating virtual environments and possess strong skills in 3D modeling, texturing, lighting, and rendering. As a 3D Environment Artist, you will collaborate with the Principal Artist, Lead Artist and the multidisciplinary team to bring our creative visions to life and deliver high-quality 3D environments for various projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize and design 3D art based on project requirements and artistic direction.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to level design, 3D modeling, and game development.

  • Create high-quality 3D models of landscapes, buildings, props, and other environmental elements using industry-standard software (e.g., Autodesk Maya, Blender, 3ds Max).

  • Apply textures and materials to 3D models to achieve realistic and visually appealing models.

  • Optimize 3D assets and scenes for performance and compatibility with target platforms.

  • Collaborate with principal artists, designers, and other team members to ensure that 3D art meet project requirements and artistic standards.

  • Research and experiment with new tools, techniques, and technologies to improve workflows and achieve desired visual effects.

  • Problem-solve technical and artistic challenges to deliver high-quality results within project deadlines.

  • Provide and incorporate feedback from team members to iterate on designs and assets.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a 3D Artist or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.

  • Proficiency in 3D modeling, texturing, lighting, and rendering using industry-standard software.

  • Strong understanding of composition, color theory, and visual storytelling.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to create realistic and visually appealing environments.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine) is a plus.

  • Passion for video games, film, animation, or other forms of digital media is desirable.

$62,400 - $83,200 a year

Please note that this compensation is for employees based near our headquarters in Reston, VA. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
