National Account Manager

We’re using fermentation (not animals) to make dairy proteins that are the foundation for foods like ice cream, cheese and yogurt – all with the distinctive taste and textures that consumers demand, but without lactose or environmental downsides. Through partnerships with respected brands, we’re working to launch a whole range of dairy products that will help shape a humane, sustainable food system for future generations. 

The National Account Manager plays an important role on the B2C Sales team by growing our branded retail business with strategic, national retail customers.  This position collaborates with a cross functional team including Marketing, R&D, Planning, Operations, Logistics and Finance to achieve outstanding results for TUC and our retail partners.

Essential functions

  • Manage assigned Retail National Accounts and uncover opportunities for mutual growth

  • Execute the annual commercial plan and develop mutually beneficial joint business plans

  • Manage the customer P&Ls, sales promotions, trade investments

  • Uncover, evaluate and present new business opportunities and bring deep understanding of customer 

Other functions

  • Participate in annual budget process and track progress on a monthly basis

  • Work with Finance to ensure promotional plans developed are competitive and meet investment guiderails

  • Manage and grow core assortment integrity within The Urgent Company portfolio

  • Review analytics and conduct regular meetings with key market personnel to measure results and adjust strategy.

  • Negotiate program agreements for assigned Distributors and Retailers as necessary utilizing Finance Department to determine feasibility/profitability for The Urgent Company.

  • Plan, schedule, develop, and execute sales trainings and new product introductions with Broker, Distributors.

  • Regular collaboration with Leadership to develop regional strategies and execute national initiatives.

  • Introduce and successfully gain distribution with all new product launches and implement supporting programs.

  • Stay abreast of marketplace needs and changes to include competitive activities and report information back to senior management. 

  • Understand increasingly complex customer requirements and educate internal stakeholders on details.

Required education and experience

  • 5+ years' experience in CPG sales with a minimum of 3 years’ experience working with major national retailers

  • Solid computer skills and adaptable to new technology, ERP systems, customer portals and sourcing platforms

  • Excellent financial and business acumen 

Preferred education and experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Passion for the mission and the food industry

Travel requirement

  • Must be able to travel up to 50%
