Regional Sales Manager

Regional Sales Managers (RSM) are responsible for achieving growth goals against established KPI’s within a defined geographic region. RSM’s are responsible for building partnerships with key regional accounts and brilliantly executing commercial plans in their territory to deliver organizational goals. The regional sales manager will provide sales leadership and direction to assigned broker partners while driving sales with distributors and operators.

Essential functions

  • Regional sales leader for The Urgent Company.

  • Deliver growth to region that meets or exceeds established KPIs by managing all distribution across customer segments, including any Corporate Accounts and significant Tier 2/3 distributors.

  • Collaborate and coordinate with key Broker personnel, to achieve operator growth targets within region. 

  • Achieve budgeted sales objectives within spending guidelines.

Other functions

  • Serve as Corporate Team Lead for assigned retailers.

  • Work with Finance to ensure promotional plans developed meet sales & spending targets.

  • Manage and maintain core assortment integrity within The Urgent Company Foods portfolio.

  • Establish sales relationship with top 3-5 large retailers in region.

  • Close existing distribution voids for The Urgent Company Foods portfolio.

  • Review analytics and conduct regular meetings with key market personnel to measure results and adjust strategy.

  • Negotiate program agreements for assigned Distributors and Retailers as necessary utilizing Finance Department to determine feasibility/profitability for The Urgent Company.

  • Plan, schedule, develop, and execute sales trainings and new product introductions with Broker, Distributors.

  • Support regional business development activities including food shows, sales meetings, and trade shows.

  • Regular collaboration with Leadership to develop regional strategies and execute national initiatives.

  • Introduce and successfully gain distribution with all new product launches and implement supporting programs.

  • Effectively manage trade dollars at a regional level to support growth initiatives with key Retailers and Distributors.

  • Stay abreast of marketplace needs and changes to include competitive activities and report information back to senior management.

Required education and experience

  • 5+ years' experience in CPG sales

  • Solid computer skills and adaptable to new technology, ERP systems, customer portals and sourcing platforms

  • Solid financial and business acumen 

Preferred education and experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Passion for food and food industry

  • Experience working with national retail accounts 

Travel requirement

  • Must be able to travel up to 50%
