UX/UI Designer

About this role

PetDesk is looking to add a talented and experienced UX/UI Designer to own our portfolio of products, that serve B2B, B2C, and internal users. Reporting to the Head of Product, you’ll lead the development of our User Experience processes and style guides, and have direct communication with PetDesk customers and pet parents for discovery, research, usability testing and product validation. In this role, you will be the creative force that drives the user experience of a product that is revolutionizing how veterinary clinics and other pet care providers communicate with pet owners!

Duties & responsibilities

  • Lead all User Experience research efforts related to and impacting our web and mobile applications, translating high-level requirements into wireframes, storyboards, prototypes, and interaction flows to create beautiful, intuitive, and functional user experiences

  • Work closely with Product and Engineering from the initial strategic planning and architecture, into user research, and through to tactical execution of the product roadmaps

  • Build strong relationships with engineering and product teams, collaborating cross-functionally throughout all stages of the production cycle

  • Work with product to conduct user need assessments, task analysis, developing user profiles, competitive analysis, user testing, and usability plans

  • Rapidly iterate user prototypes to test, frequently prior to development including theoretical task scenarios, navigation maps, flows, and state-transition diagrams to document design decisions

  • Travel to local vet practices for user experience research once a week

  • Manage and develop user interface guidelines and design guidelines that include UI layouts and user interactions including controls, labels and graphical elements on both mobile and desktop platforms with an eye towards experience unification

About you

  • At least 4+ years of User Experience research with visual and interaction design, focusing on responsive SaaS web and mobile applications

  • Customer centric user researcher who has a proven track record of early product discovery, leading to best in class customer experiences

  • Expert in using wireframing and design tools such as Sketch, Invision,  Zeplin, or Adobe Creative Suite 

  • Data-driven approach to designing, prototyping, and testing user experience, to optimize the product to achieve company goals

  • Obsessively focused on A|B testing, validating and implementing  features and flows
